Let me guess todays show will be, Ed Farmer? Hawk? Kenny Williams? Maybe Jerry Reinsdorf and of course, one of the hardest guests to get Don Cooper!

Isn't the whole thing strange? Papi doing a remote from a coffee shop in Birmingham MI? But he forgot or his staf didn't get to it for opening day at Wrigley? I heard Hanley talking about it and I do wish I heard some of it as then I could have some tape to compare Mike's basement broadcasts with for the worst shows ever (Excluding the Joe Cain show)

Am I alone here or are Mitch and Paul some radio geniuses that someone figures sending Mike and Company to a Coffee shop across the lake for 3 days is a good idea? Unless of course they personally would rather have him there. Then I can understand, but outside of that, is there some great radio insider who can tell me the value of this?

I think they are grateful he's gone. Now, if they could make it permanent, we would all be grateful.

this remote is much more of an a**-kissing act

It is, but not quite the way you suggest. Its a way for North to go out and pretend he still gets out for his listeners, but in a safe environment. He gets 'out' to them by getting away from them. If they meet up with him in Detroit, they will obviously be fans (or people from Michigan who've never heard of him). This way, he gets either no reaction or great reaction at the remote. However, its not negative (and doesn't hurt Mike's obviously fragile ego, or let on to his unpopularity to the few still listening). If he had set this up at the Cell, or in Union Station, or a local bar, he would be expected to draw people. If he does his remote in Vegas, boofoo Illinois (Steger, anyone?), or a distant suburb of Michigan, any fans he gets are bonuses. Mitch doesn't expect him to draw way away from the city.

Its like his billboard excuse - if there aren't enough billboards, how can you expect me to have listeners? In this case, the distant cities are the billboards; if I'm in a city 400 miles away from my fan base, how many listeners could you expect me to have?

Even loyal Score-heads have remarked on the fact that North's only local remotes are from Pappyland, never somewhere in the city. Maybe this is why?

Curtis Granderson is an obvious choice who I am sure would jump at the chance to be on the SCORE. Dave Dombrowski as well. I'm no producer but I'm sure I could think of a few other good angles in a short period of time.

Maglio? I Rodriguez about steroids? Some young Detroit pitchers? Detroit Celebs? Mayor of Detroit? Detroit fans? Detroit press?

I'm a Sox fan and I welcome hearing them talk smack. They are the White Sox of this year and they should be covered.

I don't really care about hearing from Detroit celebs (kid rock, is that all ?), and the mayor of Detroit....I thought the lack of sports was one reason the North show struggles on a good day.

IRod isn't going to talk about steriods, much less appear on the show.

I don't remember Magglio being a big radio gues in his Chicago days, but I could be wrong.

I think there has been a Detroit guy on the show this week.

The Granderson idea is fine by me, he was on Silvy and Carmen, and he can talk, which is a plus, and not a certainity with some athletes.

All I heard was Annie trying to squeak her way into a conversation.

Mike, Farmlio, Coop, Hickey all talking about "Our" Guys, Mike Brings up Rodman and then from nowhere you hear, "he was a tool, but he's our tool."

even though no reaction was spoken from the guys the ignore factor was saying "shut the hell up."

LOL! I heard that too, and thought the exact same thing. Drink your coffee and shut your fucking cakehole!

And don't forget the occasional bellylaugh from Fred whenever Ozzie said something "crazy".

Mike wouldn't be in town to try and explain away another loss to a National talk show!!

As for the Mitch and Paul comment... yes you are alone with that thought.

Did anyone catch Farmer telling Coop to "stand back" after Pappy alluded that Clemens juces? Before Pappy could finish the sentence Farmer went "hey hey wow wait who alleges this" noticeably bothered by Pappy's statement and then yelled at Coop to "stand back."

I might be reading too much into this, but the impression was that Coop was either getting ready to throw an upper-cut or strangle North with a shoelace.

I didn't hear that, but you could see the uncomfortable look on Kenny Williams face right through the radio yesterday when Mike said Kenny Rogers was on HGH. Overall, I just dont see the point in interviewing athletes. I thought the BB Chandler interview was suprisingly good and Ozzie can obviously be good, but most of them have nothing to say, or dont wanna cause a media storm and say something stupid. Same can be said for really any enertainer, actors, muscicians, etc...

logic would lead a sensible thought to conclude the more persons in any given conversation would mathematically lead to less contribution from someone, depending on the topic. and in this case annie was not the guest or the host of the show, how much can she say without everyone crying she is hogging the airwaves?

Annie didn't have anything to say because she probably didn't understand what they were talking about.

No we'd continue to point out that she has no clue what she's talking about and does not belong anywhere near Sports Radio.
