Any news on the producer Mac has let spin the wheels?

I believe spmack said Jason Goff was going to be the producer.

Goff would be heaven because I love the way he pipes in on B&B.

He said that last week at the event out in Frankfort.

Mac, who are gonna be your producers? You can break that news here. I don't think Mitch will want to set a time on the B&B show to announce this. He already gave 2 days to announce you and Spiegal seperately.

The production staff will be announced Friday. I'm thrilled with it... sound surgeons in every direction. Jason will remain with B&B, but if I ever have the chance to work with JG, it would be a hoot. Love that goofball on and off the air. Same with Matty. It wouldn't have been smart to come in and try to dismantle others' staffs.

I'm sure Finji is in the running, but he's getting something at ESPN1000 now that WSCR may not be able to offer: AIR TIME.

What about Shakey? The pay probably isn't high enough - but that dude was a legit talent back in the day.

And who was producing The Hamp/Holmes and Murph Shows - as they're now available.

I think the four headed team of producers should start being less concerned with the 'hip bumper music' (which sucks btw) and start booking some interesting guests. That's what this show sorely lacks. The odd looking executive producer down the dial is running laps around whomever books guests for The Danny Mac Show.

Not that I don't like hearing about the personal lives of Mac and Speigs, but grilling tips, movies, music and DinoSoreAss gigs get old after awhile.

Unless I missed it, Mac doesnt have guests on his show, right?
And he doesnt take phone calls.
Why wont Mac talk to Athletes or fans?

Jay Zawaski, Murph's last producer, now does the same along with the "Not So Affordable" as Mac says, Dave Miska, who used to work down the dial. Today, Mac mentioned there was an Artie Kennedy sighting at what he now calls the "Marion Brooks Center"a.k.a. NBC Tower, the current home of 670 The SCORE and sister station 93XRT. Mac said something about Artie recently being let go from ESPN Radio 1000, due to what he called "the Bristolization" of his former station...

If you dont want fans or athletes (i agree with minimal athlete involvement) there is still another well to tap. That would be newspaper writers, and/or commentators. I have long said you can never have another athlete on, just bring on the local beat guy for a team or a national writer and you are bound to get some good stuff most of the time.

'Around the Conference' was one of my favorite segments from the old Heavy Fuel Crew Show. They'd go around the horn from Minnesota, to Green Bay to Detroit (not sure about Tampa) - to get the lowdown on the feelings on those city's respective teams.

Just say NO to Frank Caliendo too please.

Sports talk radio cannot be about sports every hour of every day. Sometimes it should just be general guy stuff.

I still feel bad for thinking I heard Jason Goff say he was going to be the producer. Thinking back, I'm glad he didn't.

Mac got this method from his old boss Chet Choppock.

They could easily do an around the conference every week and then pick up two writers or media guys from the team they are playing that week. In addition throw in one guy from a team they dont play this season for a rundown of whats going on with the Jacksonville Jaguars this year.

My suggestion would be as follows for week 1 (@ Green Bay) of the NFL season:

Mon-Brad Biggs on what to expect this weekend and a wrap to the previous day's games
Tues-Packers beat guy and Dolphins (team the Bears dont play this year) announcer
Wed-Vikings beat guy
Thurs-Lions beat guy
Fri-Bob LeGere (or another local Bears guy) and the Packers color analyst

In doing this you can expand on Beef Rockmore's idea to know the ins and outs of the division and on a more national scale learn about the teams that are maybe not seen and heard as much in an NFC North town.

I know many will say that will make the weeks football intensive, but as long as baseball is still being played you are only committed to one or at the most two segments a day on football talk. I think we all know its a Bears town anyway so the majority will be into it.

On air entertainers get paid to inform and entertain.
Producers get paid to produce.
This isn't Reeses Peanut Butter Cups is it?

Theyre not as funny as Goff but hes the best Ive heard at doing that. Hoods impersonations were pretty good way back when he produced B&B.

What have they done to contribute to the on-air presence? To even mention them in the same breath as Goff is laughable. Like t.c. above me said, how about producing a better show. Get some better guests and tell your hosts to listen to each other and respond, not just lay in wait for your opportunity to roll onto your topic making the flow incredibly disjointed.

I said Goff is the best Ive heard as a producer contributing on-air. Not superlative enough for you?

When you said not as funny as Goff, that implies you are comparing them even in a small way. I cant even remember one funny thing I have heard either of them say since the shows inception.

In defense of Dave Miska and myself, our show has been on for 2 months. Boers and Bernstein have been together for 8 years. They have grown as a show in every way. They have a brotherly relationship with Matt and Jason. I've KNOWN Mac and Dave for 2 months and a week. As my comfort level with them grows, I will be a bigger part of the show on air wise. I'm getting to know the guys, and learn Mac's style. Remember, I've been Murph's producer for the last 3 years, when the only "on air" talking I was allowed to contribute was based on Murph's script. I only added a BIT of hockey talk, when it steered the way Murph wanted. There's an adjustment. I'm sure if any of you have started a new job, you don't walk in and start busting the balls of co-workers. Trust me, it will get better. We're all starting to feel each other (then we'll learn our show styles when we're done). Thanks as always for listening. We all appreciate every bit of input we get.

Jay, everyone here is an expert at not only what they do professionally, but what you guys do at the Score and at ESPN.
The sooner you realize that about the CSFMB community, the better off you will be.

Nobody "waits" for improvement anymore...pshhh.
If you are not great at something immediately, why bother putting the work in to get better at it?
That just sounds like a giant waste of time to me.

See beef, we're getting there. I will tell you one thing about all 4 of our philosophies. We don't want guests for guests sake. You'll never hear Aramis Ramirez on a bad cell phone talking about one game at a time. We want, in Mac's words, warmth. We want guys who want to be on with us, and who can add things.

We don't have a weekly baseball guest because many valuable guests had been snagged up by the time our show started 7/15. We've done, IMO, a good job of throwing on Plesac, Len Kasper, Bob Brenly, Ed Farmer or Hawk. I know they aren't HARD to book, but they always come with something. I guarantee you'll learn more every week from Jim Miller than you would from Matt Forte. Make sense? The NAME doesn't usually make a great interview.

I understand that players aren't a great interview - no doubt.

But I enjoy knowing that "so and so" is going to be on 'this day' or 'that day'.

Kasper is always a great interview, as is his partner. OK, so that's fine for the Cubbies.

What about Thayer or his Peter Brady sounding partner for the Bears? ...OR HUB as a weekly contributor? Hub is great now that he's not kissing the Bears organization's ass. Much better than the stuttering HOFer.

I'm sure you'll 'get it right' over time Jay. I'm nothing if not patient.
