. . . for exposing the butchering of the English language that goes on all too much in the world of sports. How many times do writers cover up for ridiculous grammar skills by re-writing quotes so athletes don’t come across like uneducated morons?
But in this case, I’m not referring to an athlete. It’s his fellow member of the media ---ESPN’s very own Stephen A. Smith, the king butcher of the English language.
In today’s Trib, Teddy quoted writer and talk show host Stephen A. directly, “People come up to me all the time and say, `I love your show . . . when I can find it?'”.
When I can find it?? Did they teach you that at Winston-Salem State University or did you skip class the day they taught grammar? And you call yourself a writer? Nice.
