I'm pretty sure Jurko is in his 40's, unless he is trying to steal one of Jack Benny's bits.

You think Jurko will be in any trouble from ESPN for contributing to Mac's column.

Mac's Column at the Sun Times Today.

We're well advised to take Brett Favre's advice and let him worry about his legacy. If the Vikings' new triggerman wants to be remembered as ''Football Elvis,'' Willie Mays in shoulder pads, why begrudge him?
Favre's annual waffling act has annoyed us. It was a stale script last summer. His desire to play the lead in a movie titled ''NFL Drama Queen'' has changed the way we view one of the game's most accomplished stars, who plays the most demanding position in professional sports.
But in our haste to slap Favre for his addiction to applause, we've overlooked something he's displaying that is a requirement for success at his vocation: Favre possesses a willingness to be unpopular. All good leaders do.
It's the same for Jay Cutler, who has volunteered his services in discussions about Bears personnel groups and playing time.
Good. The quarterback is the boss. He leads, and others follow. More than any other job in sports, the quarterback is an extension of the coaching staff. His voice should be heard, on and off the field. His observations of teammates should be honest and unmerciful. Even publicly. Feelings be damned.
Speaking of which, I'd be pleased if Cutler rescinded his apology to receiver Devin Hester for comments Hester misinterpreted after the preseason opener Saturday in Buffalo. Hester should be more consumed by understanding coverages and remembering the hot color than by what anybody is saying about him.
Cutler's mission is to get the Bears to the Super Bowl. The Vikings, who already had the league's best running back in Adrian Peterson and a stout, athletic defense, believe Favre can do that for them. If Cutler and Favre are prone to step on a few feelings along the way, boo-hoo.
And if you think Vikings players feel cheated because Favre wiggled his way out of three weeks of training camp, you're delusional. So says WMVP-AM (1000) sports-talk host John Jurkovic, who cut his NFL teeth with Favre in Green Bay in the early 1990s.
''If anything, they [Favre's teammates] envy him because he's in a position they'd like to be in,'' Jurkovic said. ''They're jumping for joy because they've seen Sage Rosenfels and Tarvaris Jackson.''
Favre and Cutler squaring off twice this season is a most delicious proposition. They're controversial stars, both of whom left employers kicking and screaming after late-season fizzles.
Neither has much social polish, nor cares to. Neither frets over what somebody else thinks. When they walk into the huddle, 10 other guys shut up and listen.
Tiresome as the Favre soap opera has become, it's something a Bears fan should wish for with Cutler in 15 years. Does he preserve his immortality, earned by a Super Bowl victory and three MVP awards, or does he conclude his career trying to rescue the Detroit Lions?
Favre's advice was good and something I needed to hear. If he gets his eggs scrambled and embarrasses himself, it was his choice. I'll sleep just fine.
To the victors go the spoils. And the right to decide when it's time to go to camp. And where to go to camp.
I'm glad he's back in the division. It's on.
