Maybe he pitches a lot of BP for the Red Sox? And if Green did pitch in college, that would've been over a decade ago.

He pitched all the way through the White Sox order--Beckham all the way around to Podsednik--without giving up a run.
Maybe chalk it up to beginner's luck + White Sox not caring too much and the wildness of his pitches keeping the Sox hitters from committing to swinging at many pitches.
