When I got to the office today, there was some serious trash talking going on. I know Mike played it like it's great for the show, but Mike it is terrible.

1. It's terrible radio listening to you and Anne fight over clothes? really I need to turn it off it just gets so bad.

2. I know you like to think Annie can take it, but I would love to wager BIG MONEY the conversations later between Anne and Harvey are not so flattering with regards to you.

It just doesn;t work, time to cut bait and get on with it. You have the chance to actually salvage this thing, but you need to act, you know it, I know it, she knows it, Mitch knows and even Ike Knows it.

I admittedly rarely listen, but I heard some today and it sounds to me like they genuinely do not like each other. You keep addressing this point to Mike, bf. From what I heard, it sounded like Mike already knows she is bad for the show and is publically humiliating her, which is not tough to do. I'm guessing it's out of his control that she is on the show. She's certainly got enough pull there that she has some leverage. I think he wants her to march in and demand to be pulled off of his show. Either he has no say so or it is politically better for him that she do it instead of him. He does have a big contract that he is going to want to get renewed one day and he certainly doesn't have the bargaining power he used to have. Just a thought.

A big complicating factor in all this is that Mike handpicked Annie to come over from WGN. I never understood the infautation at the time since Annie was just a traffic girl for the afternoon show and never really showed any ability to do more than that. I believe she started with Bobby Collins a long time ago and then moved to afternoons. Unfortunately, in this role, she is forced to hold her own with Mike and play the contra position to every issue - oh yeah, and wave the Cubby blue flag. If she was in Fred's role as the anchor guy and the person that chimes in from time to time, she might be better but Fred is too much of a sidekick to Mike to play the contra. Someone like a Laurence Holmes wouldn't be afraid to fight back, but he won't be on that show.

In the end, getting rid of Annie would require Mike to admit he was wrong and as we know, he's never wrong.

Mike North's stegosaurus sized brain, often saturated with staggering amounts of intoxicants, is incapable of processing the data that would lead any rational human being to conclude that this train wreck is unlistenable.

Agreed. There are many things I hate about LH, but he does know how to debate. When he filled in for Boers on Monday, he and Bernstein went back and forth on every issue, which was refreshing to hear. A good foil for Pappy's nonsense might actually make it a better show.

My rambling response: Anne & Buck were plucked from WGN because Anne was (and still is) married to Norths boss at the time: Harvey Wells. So North didn't exactly pick Anne from a talent contest - it was rigged from Day One. North said he "auditioned lots of co-hosts" but in the end he just happened to pick his bosses wife - My Guy!

"but that was you blah blah" i know you all will say that so try to come up with something better, entertain me a little. dont dissapoint me and be more boring then mike north now! that would mean the end of these boards!

It's an audio train wreck, but I listen sometimes just to hear the nonsensical banter.
