Sometimes I wonder if he knows what he's doing. Moving Hester to receiver was a horrible mistake. Playing prevent against the Falcons cost them the playoffs. Also he seems to have a loyalty to his guys whether they are good coaches or not (and to Archuleta). Not to mention that he never gives straight answers at press conferences. He also said, "Rex is our guy" repeatedly even though Orton is taller and won more games (I know it's silly but true). His allegiance to the Cover 2 when the secondary stinks is also unnerving. His lack of real training camp bothers me and he seems so confident that the Bears can win the Super Bowl in the years the team has holes at every position.

Although it's a separate issue, I think the team lacks the depth of quality backup players at most positions (i.e. wide receiver, running back, quarterback, the secondary and maybe even defensive line). I'm also not sure who to blame for the bad draft picks and the resigning of Tommy Harris and Urlacher (he had neck surgery and he gets an extension???). It's probably Angelo, but sometimes you don't know how much influence the coach has on player personal decisions.

I wouldn't say he's a bad coach as much as he is part of a bad coaching staff.

I'd put him solidly in the middle third of NFL coaches.

Yeah,the Super Bowl is full of "middle of the road coaches. Since Lovie started coaching the Bears,they have been very respectful.

All I can say about Lovie is he got to the Super Bowl with Rex Grossman at Quarterback and because he stuck with Rex and didn't give in to media and fan pressure.

Peyton Manning was winnining that Super Bowl, no if ands or butts about it.

Irish Boy don't confuse the Lovie haters who still hang onto their gay love of Mike Ditka who if he was really a great head coach would have won more than one super bowl.

All I want to know is how in the hell does a head coach who never ever talks or interacts with players or coaches on the sidelines during a game, actually manage a game? Can it be a coincidence that every time Lovie is on camera, he is watching the replay on the jumbo tron looking like a dufus? The Bears coordinators call the game...and Lovie listens to what they are calling. Just once I want to see Lovie at least look like he is a leader who is in charge of his team, rather than looking like just some dope with headphones on.
Was Lovie even calling the Defense plays tonight? Did anyone notice?
