just caught nort on chicago tnite. when they showed him they said he was from nbc 5 news. WTF ? like we really need to hear nort's opinion on the big box ordinance. we need to get some station in vegas to offer nort a contract and get him out of town.

Doesnt suprise me. People in this town still treat North like a top rated "shock jock". The media works in strange ways. Most fans of sports radio thinks that North is a clown. Media members obviously (and obviously wrong) think North will get them ratings on their TV shows. I would not tune in just because of the fuck.

ESPN does the same shit with Marriotti and that Woody asswipe and others. Neither one knows anything. One makes "controversial" comments and the other is supposedly funny.

WGN radio still has Santo on the air and my 16 yr old daughter would do a better job.

Morale of the story is----Act like a dumbass know-it-all and you can be a writer/radio personality/TV personality in Chicago.

better job then santo? i mean i know he isnt the best broadcaster ever, but neither was harry. the fact is santo is absolutely beloved my most cub fans, especially the older crowd. he will announce for the cubs as long as he can, he is exactly what they want- an old nostalgic personality that makes goofy comments to keep people entertained.

I'm not going to get into a pissing match with you Bebe.........I mean Ike but the job of a color guy is to tell us about the game. Not how he loves pretzels and not how he doesnt eat the buns when he eats hot dogs.

And if you knew anything about Harry Carey, you'd know that until the late 80's he was a great baseball announcer. Drunk or not. As much as I didnt like him when he was an old fart, he was the best announcer I ever heard in the 70's.

Cub fans would love any former player. Cub fans have an image of loving their team no matter what. I guess that applies to the announcers if they were former players. Rick Sutcliffe or Mark Grace would be much better than Santo. They also just happen to know a little about the game. That should be an important requirement.

Santo would be forgetten immediately.
