See, I would go for Cowher too. But that doesn't mean I want Smith hanging around for the rest of the year.

No way will the Bears fire Lovie during the season.

It wouldn't have occurred. Because the Bears would have won that game.

If that doesn't get people stirred up, nothing will.

Not sure if that is true. I don't know if the Bears would have more than 2 pts with Orton. Maybe 9 and Turner would have had them running the ball more.

I hope we don't hear this all year even if it is just sarcasm.

I'm fairly serious. You won't hear it all year unless Cutler sucks all year which I don't think he will.

But, I think that game is a special case that outlines the differences in Orton and Cutler.

Orton would not have lost that game given an "average to good" Orton game which he was nothing if not consistently mediocre. Orton would have squeaked that game out 12-10 or 11-10.

Cutler had to play the worst game of his life to lose by 6 points.

This is no defense of Orton. You will hear no "we shoulda kept Orton" talk from me. But, IMO, the Bears would have won that particular game as it played out with Orton at QB. The difference is that, considering the D will be weakened with the losses at LB, Orton may not have won another game the rest of the year where Cutler provides that potential to win games even when the D sucks.

Dr. Kenneth is just one of those people who are blinded by love of Orton. Right Spaulding?

Those are all actually very valid points.

No, I see how he could think that. Orton wouldn't have made the mistakes (or good plays) Cutler made on Sunday.

Now if he ends up saying I'd rather have Orton than Cutler then he has to lay off the Doritos because they are making him crazy.

But there comes a pooint where you cut your losses & move on. Some say the Bears are paying him to not coach right now.

dr ken, there's a flip side to that coin as de niro or mac would say. The hester pass and the knox pass probably dont happen. The bears probably would have lost 13-9 or so. Also remember cutler is way more mobile than orton and remember the constant pressure.

chill out guys. Urlacher gone is by far the biggest concern. O-line is a distant second. If the past has shown anything about lovie and cutler it's that they are pretty good at what they do
