Really not happy with this guy to date. Seems like a nice guy, but I like my football players to play football before they are media darlings. Appearances, charities, spokespersons...no matter how good the cause, because I am pretty sure Greg Olson is not finding the cure for cancer, should all be second to PLAYING.

Yes, he took a hard hit, but he did not hold on to the ball and didn't hold on to some easier passes as well. Then when he does catch one on the 7, he concentrated so hard on just holding on to the ball and expecting a hit he made ZERO effort to run, he just waited for the hit!

Won't even get into the beauty & style appointments I heard about before all his 'appearances' and 'photo' shoots.

You are correct. Olsen smokes cigarettes. My buddy does Air Conditioning at Soldier Field. Saw him smoking one day.

I could see a lot of NFL NBA guys being social smokers, smoke when they drink type of thing. But if Olsen is smoking @ soldier field. I think he's probably an actual smoker.

That being said. He's good. He will be really good.

He has dropped a few passes, but I cannot put blame on him for not hanging onto that pass when he got obliterated by the safety.

I know that reaction, he clearly had the wind knocked out of him. That was the epitome of a hard hit. Both guys laid out in pain.

His hands are suspect and he has yet to break a tackle during his Bear career. He also seems to play slower than his timed speed.

I have confirmed reports that he also picks his nose. And not just a social nose picker either.

ive had little problem with his performance so far. hes been a dependable tight end. i dont blame him at all for not hanging onto that pass last night when he was hcrushed by the safety. and it was pouring rain most of the game too. not the best conditions for hanging onto a football

He has been dropping a few too many for the guy who is suppose to be the receiving tight end. I was expecting more from him this far. I'm glad he had the wherewithall to fall on Forte's fumble.

The Ty Carter hit , I will give him the pass on, but the next catch he had, you know he was thinking about just getting hit and forgot about running.

Other than that he has had more than his share of drops already this year!

As opposed to doing what? Just standing there and watching the defense fall on it?

Falling on a fumble is not a skill. Anyone standing right next to the football could have done that.

nobody can deny olsen took a MANS hit last night, whether he held onto it or not doesnt matter, he got back up and kept playing- usefully.

i dont like this cigarette thing though... nothing zaps your breath quicker. nothing...

I meant that a little sarcastically but I did think it was a pretty heads up kind of play.

i think it was sarcastic but if the smoking commens were serious thats stupid. Unfortunately i smoke more now than i did before but can run faster and longer than ever. Training has much more to do with it. I wouldn't call him a bust yet. Give him a full year with a legit qb first. I think he has alot of skills and if he could play a more consistently could be very good. If might not ever be a good blocker although i think crumpler has had a successful transition in that area
