Caleb is developing nicely. It would be great if the Bears could sell him off for a 3rd rounder in a couple of years just like the Packers used to do with every backup behind Farve.

Right now, I don't mind Caleb Hanie as Jay Cutler's backup quarterback. He is to the Bears what Jim Sorgi is to the Indianapolis Colts behind Peyton Manning. The ONLY time I want to see Hanie or Sorgi happens if the Bears and/or Colts have big enough leads in their games to warrant rest for Cutler here and Manning there.

If Jay would happen to go down (knock on wood that he won't), I'd sign Garcia as a veteran backup in a heartbeat. I personally wish the Eagles would've kept him and dumped the distraction known as Vick, but I'm sure there are financial reasons why they didn't.

Why would they have Garcia's number on speed dial? Generally, speed dial is used for numbers that are called frequently. I wonder why they would often be calling a player who, up until recently, was under contract with other teams. That could be considered tampering.

However, it is conceivable they have his agent's number on speed dial.
