I had to drive up to Milwaukee on business this A.M. and being in a masochistic mood, I listened to a good portion of the 7:00 hour of the North Shitfest. Very little sports was discussed; in fact, they finally let one caller on to make some point about why the White Sox didn't block, via waivers, Javy Lopez from going to Boston and the guy said he was on hold so long, he grew a beard while waiting. What were they discussing that was so important they had no time for sports? Well--and I kid you not--most of what I heard was the same, old, tired argument between Mike and Anne over whether or not rock from Mike's era (which era is Mike's era, by the way--Paleozoic, Mesozoic?) is better than today's music. ("Den, how come ya see young people at da Stones concerts, huh?") ("Oh, Mike, my dad used to always yell at me to turn my stereo down! Music is a generational thing.") I don't know which argument they overdo more: music or capital punishment. I'll let you use your imagination as to whose side Fred chose in this stimulating discussion. God, was that boring! Oh, and they also read a few e-mails and useless text messages. Oh, and yes, Mike also gave a long-winded explanation of how he had to stop in the building Saturday to pick up something he left there and then took BeBe for ice cream. (He had a vanilla shake, in case you're interested and I know you all are.) This would have been bad high school radio. You know, you don't listen for a while, and you say to yourself, hey, the show can't be as bad as I thought, I'll give it another try. And you know what? It's not as bad as I thought, it's EVEN WORSE! For the love of God, get this POS off the air! NOW!!!

I don't know for sure, but the Chinaman said it was the Ming dynasty....

I've done that same thing Crappy and I;ve had the same result. My converstions with the rabbit in my back yard are much more interesting and engaging than what those mopes have to say to eachother.

I cant believe that "the Mike North morning show" actually brings in revenue. I know some have argued that he still gets sponsers but how? He's not entertaining. He's just loud, annoying and obnoxious.

There has to be better out there. There has to be.

I cant listen to more than 10 mins without changing the station. Always used to love the Score and I listen all day long Mulli, Hanley, Murph and B&B, but the lowest common denominator strategy really has become annoying.

I had the opposite experience. I was driving east on Wednesday morning and had North and Drinky on until the Ohio-Pennsylvania border. I thought they were excellent together.

Drinky and North huh? That might be interesting.

A thousand times better than Drinky and Goff, I can tell you that much.

Matt Abattacola. He's the producer for B&B and does a weekend show with Jason Goff. He's also a fill in. B&B gave him that nickname. That is the name he uses to post on this board. He got the nickname "Drinky" because he drinks loads and loads of alchohal every day. Hope that helps.

Had I known Drinky was filling in with Pappy, I may have tuned in for more than the 30 minutes I heard.

You should just do what I do. Don't tune in until 10:20, when crosstalk is drawing to a close.
