This weekly wagering contest will reward the best football prognosticator with a $100 gift certificate from a meat/steak company. New guys can still join in any time and you don't have to make a pick every week. Post them all at once or in separate posts, but they must be posted in the current week's contest thread. Post your plays any time, but they must be posted before a game you are playing kicks off. You must make your picks in this thread and you must provide at least one reason for each pick. Minimum 50 picks to qualify by the end of the contest.

Louisville +6.5 against Pitt L
This may not be the right play, but it sure seems smart to go against Wanne as a favorite on the road in a weeknight game

Syracuse +6.5 against South Florida L
seems like a classic letdown situation
Purdue -7 at Northwestern L
Wisconsin +2.5 against Minnesota W
Minnesota is a road favorite in back to back big 10 games?
Mississippi -8.5 at Vandy W
10 days to prepare and they were not THAT bad at MSU

Northwestern +8 over Purdue

Dog has been the way to go in NW games this year. Purdue played over their heads last week. I think they have a downer this week.

VTech -16.5 over Duke

VT scores 2 special team TD's and win by 20+.

Idaho +3.5 over Colorado St

Idaho has covered their 1st 4 games all as dogs. I will ride them.

From The Greek

NCAA

Northwestern/Purdue Under 57 Possibility for crummy weather, points harder to come by than expected

Penn St. -7 @ Illinois Illini might be hard pressed to score, Lions will roll

Indiana +17 1/2 vs Ohio St. Slight let down for the Buckeyes, who struggle, but prevail

NFL

Bengals/Browns Under 38 Hard to see the Browns putting up more than 10 in this one

Lions +10 @ Bears Bears tendency to play down to their opponent keeps this one close

Ravens/Pats Under 44 1/2 Bad weather, good defense keep this game in the 30's

From Pinnacle Sports

Minnesota -2.5 vs Wisconsin- Wisconsin suffers the first loss of the season as Webber keeps going to Decker and Gophers go 2-0 in Big 10.

N.C. State +2.5 vs Wake Forest- I like what Russel Wilson is doing and N.C. State has played better since the opener and not sure about Wake yet.

Iowa -21.5 vs Arkansas State- Know nothing about ASU, but if Iowa does struggle they have the defense that will keep ASU out of the endzone, I like the Hawkeyes here.

South Florida @ Syracuse UNDER 48 (Pinnacle) Groethe is out the season for South Florida and coming off a big win in Tallahasse. May look past Syracuse. Syracuse will struggle against one of the top defenses in the country.

Minnesota -2.5 vs. Wisconsin: Badgers first game outside of Madison with a QB making first start on the road.

Titans -3 vs Jaguars- Titans need a win and I think they get it here, have had the Jags number of late.

Bengals -6 vs Browns- I know it could be a trap, but I just don't think the Browns are that good.

Jets and Saints under 45- I like the Saints to win, but struggle a little against the Jets D, maybe 23-16.

From Pinnacle Sports....

Ravens +1 over Patriots - Best team in the NFL vs. a team with no run game and average defense. Ravens win by a TD or more.
Bengals -6 over Browns - Browns are terrible. Still not sure if the Bengals are good.
Giants -9 over KC - KC is terrible. I'll continue to pick against them ATS.
Bears -9.5 over Lions - Cutler dominates this game
Tampa Bay +9 over Washington - How the fuck is Washington favored by 9 against anyone?
Rams +9.5 over San Francisco - 49ers win easily but the score wont reflect it.
Dallas -1 over Broncos - Denver should lose this game. If they dont Wade Phillips needs to be fired tonight.
Vikings -4 over Packers - Terrible matchup for Green Bay as of today.

Indy -10 over Seattle

Cant see Seattle doing much on O. If Colts can get to 24 they should cover.

Oakland +9 over Houston

Dog has covered 5 of 6 games these two have played. Road team has covered 5 of 6 games these two have played. Dog has won SU the last 3 years in this series. Hopefully Oakland O can move it on this bad Houston D.

San Fran -9 over St Louis

Big bounceback for SF after their last second loss last week. Rams are bad.

NYJets +7.5 over New Orleans

I think the Jets O will be able to move it, hopefully they score TD's instead of FG'S. I think Saints should be favored by 4 so will take the 7.5.

Pittsburgh -5.5 Not a believer in the Norv Turner led Chargers
Minnesota - 4.5 Green Bay's offensive line is a mess and the defense can't seem to stop the run, not a good combination.

Week 5 Monday Night Revenge

Green Bay @ Minnesota -4 1/2 (46)

The matchups look bad on both sides of the ball for the Packers. Vikings ring up 35 on their own. GB get to at least 13 in garbage time. Take the over.

I played the under as well, and it's basically "over' at the half....
