I have been celebrating the Sox World Series victory since last year, and I just sobered up. It says that the Cubs are 14 games out of first, which is no surprise, but that the Sox are 10 games out. Is that right? This is a prank isn't it? Was it last year the Sox won?

This is the first year they arent counting last years standings. I know, I was stunned when someone told me too.

Actually, I swear that I have posted on here before, but I cannot remember my old user name. I do not claim to be either funny or smart, so thanks for clarifying it for me.

Lets look at it from a different perspective. The White Sox currently have the 4th best record in baseball, tied with Boston. The Cubs are almost last and ahead of only Kansas City and Pittsburgh with the highest, or one of the highest payrolls in the NL. Not much of a comparison there, don't you think?

However, it doesn't change the standings. That is the only point.

No knocks against Sox intended. I am baseball fan now living in the Chicago suburbs, and I like watching post season play originating from within forty miles or so.
