The best offer I would make Denver is Haynes and a conditional pick that is no better than a 5th. Haynes and a 6th sounds more like a reasonable deal to me.
Then you might as well forget the whole thing, Dolphin. With multiple other teams interested, that's not going to get it done. Haynes is barely worth the plane ticket out of here, and Lelie is far more talented than any receiver you'd find at the end of the 4th round.
I think you are misinterpreting who is in the position of power in this negotiation. Lelie has hurt the Broncos position with his open call for a trade. If they do not trade him, he will be buried on the bench. It is the Broncos who are desperate.
But maybe they will be able to create a market for him. However, there is a player of equal or superior talent on the market in Porter. The glut decreases the demand.
A 4th rounder is a solid pick. You may not be able to get a top reciever in the 4th, however history has shown you can definitely get a starting RB and undoubtedly could get depth on the OL.
I disagree that teams will be jumping at him in exchange for a 4th. I would take the Kenny Williams approach: set an internal price for him and only negotiate up to that price. If demand is puts the price at greater than you think he is valued, walk away from the deal.
Let's not get crazy about this, it's Ashley Lelei.
