Midday Numbers from CRM

In the battle between the Danny Mac Show vs. Waddle & Silvy, Tom & Marc won over Dan in the September ratings period in the key demo of 25-54.

For Men 25-54 in Middays:
WMVP had a 5.1 rating/4th place
WSCR had a 4.1 rating/7th place

For Men & Women 25-54 in Middays:
WMVP had a 3.0 rating/11th place
WSCR had a 2.4 rating/16th place

With the exception of Mike Mulligan's Chris Berman-like screaming, he & Brian Hanley try to BE THEMSELVES and host an intelligent sports talk show in morning drive with guests people like me would like to hear from. Troy Aikman, Ken Rosenthal, Dave Van Dyck, Don Cooper...I'm happy for "M & H" and their success in morning drive. I'd rather listen to those 2 talk that try to understand Golic trying to talk with his mouth full or Greeny constantly make fat jokes at Golic's expense.

Everyone complains about Meatpants. Mac should have gotten (insert name here). Any name you insert is going to cost more than the show as a whole can afford. Economics has to come into the partner decision. Meatpants might not be your first choice. You may not love him. But he is not that bad. I prefer this pairing to what it replaced, and some of the other drivel up the dial. I am no ALS member. I do think that over time things will get better. The two of them aren't void of talent, just chemistry.

Now Beardown for one will disagree with me and start the conspiracy theory thing suggesting Matt and Jason should have gotten a chance to cohost. Maybe they should have. But I personally like the way the score is arranged from 5 AM - 6 PM knowing it is hard to pay top rate talent. To me it makes sense to bring in Mac/Meatpants and don't change the two bookends around it. Matt and Jason are important to B&B and mgmt should leave them tied to that show for now. Get the ratings up for all shows again, weather the economy and then create some opportunities for inside talent.

Murph bashers never denied--to my knowledge, at least--that the show was popular. Rather, they merely argued that it was mind-numbingly stupid and provided ample evidence to support their view. Pointing out that his show enjoyed comparatively strong ratings does nothing to refute this position.

The first 4 words of your message say all that needs to be said. Mac will have to address this at some point.

Bottom line is they removed the Mike North trainwreck from that time slot and people came back in droves so I think it says more about removing North than anything that M&H ARE doing because I find them as bland and boring as a show on radio.

I would agree Mac's return might of helped a bit as his ratings are up from his first few months but Mully and Hanley do not make me set my clock radio to go on at 5 am . Congrats on slaying ESPN .

No. I think the Score has given them chances to prove themselves and the Score has decided against Drinky and Goff. I think that's the right decision. My so called "conspiracy theory" is that Drinky and Goff are upset about this. I don't know why that's such a controversial opinion. Of course they are. Nothing wrong with that either. Hell, you even hear them bitch about it on the B&B show. I've heard them bitch about not getting enough air time when they have a rare show. Although I haven't heard either do their own show in a long time. But when I say they are upset, people on this board get mad.

The Score didn't "remove North from the timeslot". He declined the Scores contract offer.

What WSCR needs is new blood like Drinky & Goff. For some reason WSCR Management thinks it is a good idea to continue to hire re-treads like Rosenbloom.

Hey, dipshit, Mac is losing their audience not adding to it...and by the way you set an alarm to go off, not on. What a feather-spitter you are.

Most mornings your girl rolls over and turns off my alarm for me anyway. The next time she rolls in at 7 am to sneak back in , take a sniff between her legs as I'll leave a little something for you and then you can tell me what I taste like.

Playing in the minors must really suck dude. :P

Scorehead, I couldn't agree with you more. I don't understand why the Trib's Steve Rosenbloom was recently re-hired to host the CBS Radio-owned sports talker's Saturday morning wakeup call with the already capable Brian "The Whipping Boy" Paruch. I've expressed how pleasantly surprised and passionate "Whip" really is about sports, and I wish he was on more. Paruch's doing updates tonight with LoHo...

As for Drinky & Goff, while I'm cool with them chiming in with "Boers & Bernstein" from time to time, I don't understand why they've been passed over the last couple months in favor of Laurence Holmes whenever Terry or Dan have been away for ANY reason. Right now, either one is lucky to get an airshift! By the way, Drinky will be on Saturday 6-8p on "Chicago's Sports Station".

Last but not least, what's the deal with Connor McKnight? He won the "PepsiMax SCORE Search" last summer, but Connor's only been on a couple of times with Les Grobstein late at night at the update desk! Matt "The Dancing Fool" Rodewald, Joe Bartosch & the Chris Chelios-looking Mike Esposito have had more airshifts than Connor. WTF?!

If you're looking to point the finger anywhere, I'd point it right at the feet of Drew Hayes, who was recently re-hired as Operations Director of SportsRadio 670 in addition to his other duties at WBBM Newsradio 780.

So SHARK, are you stating that if Brian Paruch were not married you would be interested?

If you mean listening to "Whip", whether it's at the update desk or wondering why in the hell he's w/Steve Rosenbloom Saturday mornings, yes. Paruch's very good at what he does.

Shark I got your back buddy.

Just cross your arms at your midsection, thrust your hips and yell out "suck it".

That will teach them to mess with The Shark.
