On another note, Laurence Holmes is a tool. Not even 5 minutes into the show, he starts with his indirect charges of racism towards Bears fans for "everyone wanting Kyle Orton back, but not Cedric Benson, why is that?" While I wish the Macker would take him on directly regarding these repeated hints of racism by Holmes, he did make Holmes sound like a moron by asking who wanted Orton back, and that he had not heard this outside of Boers and Bernstein's show. Holmes agreed that it was a loud minority of people who felt this way about Orton, which goes against his original statement of "everyone wanting Orton back".

Yeah Larry is really pushing the Benson thing...

The problem is Orton and Benson are two waaaay different cases. Orton was well liked, Benson was a weirdo in his time here.

Race has nothing to do with how people feel about Orton vs. Benson.

Well, I'm unhappy that he failed to try here in Chicago and had to be cut in order to finally get his act together.

The Bears got all the bad Benson and none of the good Benson.

I wouldn't say I'm unhappy he's doing well but if he had dropped out of the league I would have been happy.

I'm hoping he caught the race baiting that Holmes is trying to push. I'm guessing he just didn't want to turn the show into whether Bears fans are racist.

Of course, to any reasonable person, this has nothing to do with race.

When the Bears released him, it was time to do so. Just becase he's playing well for the Benglas does not mean that the Bears should have kept him. I don't really care how he's playing for the Bengals - I don't see him playing well as an indictment of the Bears.

The guy has a problem or is bitter, whatever. Not everything has to do with race, especially in the case of Cedric Benson.
