2003 was a great season. Probably the most fun of all, for me. It was a great team that played great in the regular season, Won in the first round of the playoffs (I was there in Atlanta for game 5-the most thrilling Cub victory in my lifetime) and played great against the Marlins, up till the Alex gonzalez error. Screw the Bartman stuff. Gonzalez's error was the key. The only reason for all the hand-wringing and disappointment, is that the Cubs were so good that season, that it was reasonable to think they might win it all. They didn't...Boo, Hoo! If that is truely gut wrenching, I understand. But 6 years later???? Get over it already!! Games, even seasons, can be thoroughly enjoyed, even if a championship is not a part of the equation. That holds true for me, for 1984, 2003 and 2008.
