Our running game blows. Forte looks slow to me.

I never figured out why the schedule makers decided the Bears should travel to Atlanta two consecutive years.

i dont like the favre/cutler comparisons but cutler does have the same sense of amnesia in the positive way favre does. at the announcers already deciding this game will come down to the last minute

Why can't our Defense pick up RB's coming out of the backfield to catch short passes? Falcons are starting to beat the Bears D with the short underneath passes, which always works against the Bears D.

Bears can't cover anybody. Our Defensive backfield play has been terrible.

I explained this in another thread. There are four ways you get a team scheduled:

6 games in your division
4 games in a particular NFC rotating division
4 games in a particular AFC rotating division
2 games against the NFC teams that finished in the same "place" you finished in last year.

So the Bears face the NFC West, AFC North, and the teams in the NFC East and South that came in 2nd last year.

Now, you get a home and away with the teams in your division. You get two road games and two home games in the next two categories, and one home and one road in the other two.

For the NFC and AFC rotating divisions, you get a home game against the teams you had a road game against last time you had that division on the rotation. For example, the Steelers were on the rotation in 2005, and the Bears went to Pittsburgh. This time, the Steelers came to Chicago. The NFL wants each team in each city at least every eight years. Same with the NFC, only it works out to six years.

For the other two divisions, it rotates in a similar way. This was the year to get "NFC South away" and "NFC East home", regardless of which teams it was.

So this year, the Bears went on the road to Atlanta because they had "NFC South away" (last year they played the entire NFC South. Two years ago, they had the AFC South at home- the last game of the year against the Saints). Two years ago, they had Atlanta on the road because they played the Falcons at home in 2005 (the Rex Grossman return game when Brian Urlacher was pounding a freezing Michael Vick into the ground).

Also, the second quarter was an absolute fucking clinic in why you miss Brian Urlacher.

I'm looking for a good halftime adjustment here from Lovie.

The Bears gotta get the running going.

Please forward this post to Al Michaels. He said something like, "The Bears don't play Atlanta much." Records not withstanding, they play them as often as they do any other non-divisional conference opponent.

Hopefully the defense can figure out the no-huddle in the second half.

If this come down to a shoot-out, I don't know how the Bears can pull it out.

The O-line is quite bad. Understood, and I won't argue with that. But the running problems are Forte problems too. He's had some chances isolated against a single defender, and he hasn't won one of those battles yet.

Forte is slow and bad. I know the line sucks, but he doesn't have the burst he did last year.

On a side note, I like the way McCauley (sp?) is calling the game. Quick, efficient, not grandstanding, and not even waiting for the TV cameras to isolate his calls. Keeps the game going...

Well 2 straight possessions starting at the 40. Lets see if they can at least pick up a first down this time.
