It was something I definitely noticed as the game continued...

You mean something someone else noticed, pointed out to you and you increasingly agreed with?

SHARK versus Darkside isn't a fair fight. SHARK versus a houseplant isn't a fair fight.

There's a lot of love for Knox both here and over the airwaves. Funny thing is his stats don't really impress. He ranks 48th in the league in total number of receptions and 42nd in yds/catch (behind Hester and Bennett in both categories). He's done well for an unheralded rookie but the over the top praise is a little too much.

haven't gotten around to watching any packers games this season? Agreed on forte

Yea...#78 on the Pack is brutal.

He may, but he completely wimped out in the first half. There was a 3rd and long where had one on one coverage and caught a slant. Instead of, you know, running, he got in that hunch like he was going to get blown up, and a second later he was tackled short of the 1st down. In that second he could have, at worst, run for the first down, and at best broke one tackle and had a clear path to the end zone. It was a rookie mistake probably, but he blew it on that play.

I saw the same thing. It was a rookie mistake. He also dropped a deep ball.

Danny Mac and Terry talked about it in the transition and I guess Mac mentioned on the show Knox "turtled" up way too early on the play.

All he does is catch touchdowns

Aside from the morning drive show trying to heap undeserved praise on Knox's shoulders for three TD's, I think any praise he gets otherwise, is deserved. The kid looks like an NFL WR, not just a guy with 4.26 speed. That said, I realize he dropped the one deep ball, but I also watched this kid get 2-3yds separation on his man, 3-4 times in that game on deep routes, and it would be nice to see that lead to a TD. They didn't even target him deep, but the one time. Im not saying force the deep pass for the sake of doing so, the kid was burning the coverage. If Cutler hits him in stride, he is a good 4-5yds beyond his man at that point.

Two other things though:

Cant remember, but Im fairly sure that we kept hearing the word accurate and Cutler in the same sentence, and I just don't see it. Forget the forced, should-be throw away passes that lead to INT's, Cutler has been throwing high all year so far. And it doesn't appear to be because of coverage. How many times have we seen WR's catching balls on their fingers, on a simple 10-15yd route?

And seriously, can we draft or sign some safety help? You mean to tell me that the veteran talent at that pos that changed teams in the off season were not good enough for us? Guess what, they are all looking like pro bowl locks, and Sharper is challenging for DPOY.

The Bears sure could use Mike Brown right now. He is healthy & playing good ball for the Chiefs.

So did Bubba Franks...but he was just an average TE. Knox is only averaging about 3 catches per game so we'll see if he is a go to guy late in the season. My guess is no.

Maybe. The only Chiefs game I watched for a length of time was the Dallas game and he certainly didnt look good then. I hope I'm wrong, he's one of the only Bears I really liked, a list that can be counted on one hand.

Sort of.

1st in TDs (3-way tie)
6th in catches
7th in yards
12th in average
