Just remember that many people had given up on Silvy and Waddle in the first 6 months too. Now, they are considered a great show.

It wouldn't surprise me in the least if The Danny Mac Show is beating them by next summer. Meatpants is slowly losing some of his annoying habits that just don't flow well. If he is willing to accept constructive criticism and make small tweaks the show is only going to get better.

I totally agree it seemed like Mac overreacted to alot of what was said here and it stopped being fun back and forth and got pretty mean spirited. I think Danny Mac takes things said here a little too personally. But what do I know I am just a pantsless cretin.

While I realize they seem to be popular among many on this board (and in the general populace) I still don't think many would use the term "Great Show" to describe S&W. IMO they are the Mully & Hanley of the middays...they're non-offensive & stick to sports.

1. The Danmaneal bit came from TB, when he would reference Mac, but that "don't talk about the other station" aura still ran amuck. It was much more of an under his breath thing.

2. I don't know what the ratings are exactly, but I really do think Mac has helped the overall product. I once again feel comfortable leaving the radio on the Score all day. I didn't need to listen to Johnn By or music when the idiot factor was an 11 in the mornings. I didn't need to listen to the "annoying song of the day" and I don't need to hear 2 guys announce Sox games while trying to pretend they get along, BECAUSE THEY DON'T! The lineup is solid, from 5 am to 6 PM no real need to PTFB.

3. Worst thing about Mac's show is his gout! He doesn't cook the flesh as much anymore! Always good to hear a new menu item! Spiegs might need to pick up that end of the Bargain! Oh, and Hawckey Talk! Someone needs to get the Score Hawks Bandwagon all tuned up again and then we can get into game disection.

I can't tell you how nice it is to not have to change the station during my work day anymore.

I like Danny and Spiegs. I wasn't a Mac guy at first because I had never listened to him for any extended period on time (I listened to Spiegs on SNR more than I had ever heard Mac due to the shitty signal strength of 1000 downstate) I now understand what makes up the "mackage" and I enjoy it. I don't understand the amount of venom directed at Spiegs; I like the guy and the show overall.
