with respect to roy, carmelo is the most talented player on the floor. He's looked great on both sides this year so far. Cant wait to see this 2nd half

Call me crazy, but from an overall talent standpoint; Nene needs to be in the discussion. The guy plays solid D, rebounds, runs the floor, has good post moves and decent range for a big man. He does so much for the Nuggets yet he gets no pub.

Respect the one nutted Nene.

nene is great at what he does. He's an a vastly underrated player, and a great defender. One of the reasons for their drastic improvement on team d last year. He's also a very good rebounder and makes the hard garage points underneath you need on a contender. That said, he's not in carmelo or roy's class in terms of talent and value to a team

I have officially renamed this thread to cover all non-Bulls NBA in-game commentary.

I get too bored with a 2 game slate on Thursdays and I fell asleep in the middle of the Bulls game anyway

looking forward to a full night of action tonight

Nene's good, but he never commits a foul and is fouled on every one of his shots. I wish he'd lay off the officials.
Denver looked wasted in that first half last night. They miss J.R. Smith. Anthony Carter's PT should be eaten up by week 2 by Lawson. He's a waste.

Carmelo has looked outrageously good in two games against decent teams this year

Carter is a decent player, doesnt really hurt a team. But Lawson looks like he can play on this level. Week 2 is a little fast, but by the end of the year I'd agree. Rookie PG's usually are wildly inconsistent. They do miss Smith.

Anthony Carter really is awful though. Watched a lot of NBA TV over the summer and caught a bunch of Nuggets practices.

1. George Karl really doesn't care-he lets everyone play.
2. Anthony Carter cannot remember even the most basic play. He was literally running into people in practice. He's a vet, so there's not much excuse.
3. Allen Iverson's marriage to that team was ill fated from the beginning. Karl put up with it but it was extremely obvious he thought it was bad.

Tyreke Evans is looking really good in this matchup with your boy Paul, FF

More than holding his own. Good game, tied with 1:16 to go.

I didnt get to watch any of the games last night. Was convinced to go see Paranormal Activity instead. Just an awful, not scary movie. Apparently I didnt miss much as far as the Bulls go. I know its only been a couple games but Im kinda surprised Oneal is throwing up stats from 5-6 years ago.

Actually Nas is right, if you look at his stats for the first month last year, he had several good games. Then he fell way off.

Melo dropping 40 on the Grizz right now....Mayo with 33

Joe Johnson on his way to dropping 40, had 18 in the first quarter but 0 so far in the 2nd. Hawks hanging in there so far

A few interesting games last night...

Hawks bounced back after losing what was really not much of a game to the Lakers and getting a quality road win against Portland. I've never been a huge fan of Crawford but i think he's going to be a very solid addition to their bench, obviously he came up huge last night with 27 and 7 ast. Last year that role belonged to Flip Murray who admittedly was not bad, had a few nice games for them but I really think the addition of Crawford and Joe Smith will pretty much cement that 4th spot for them. Of course in the long run that probably doesn't mean anything, but hey....an improvement is an improvement. They had a lot of trouble on the road last year and a win at Portland is nice, 3-1 to start the season with the only loss to the Lakers

Lakers taking out the Tundarr in OT. Caught the very end of regulation there, really good game. I just have a feeling if Bynum can stay healthy the entire year he is going to have a massive breakout year. When they played the Hawks I kept thinking why are they not going to him every possession, the Hawks have no one that can stop him at all. Same thing with OKC, Kristic or Etan Thomas are not going to stop him. But of course it was Kobe hitting the big shots at the end. I wish I had paid more attention to this one instead of the Bulls game....

As far as that I don't care what anyone says Brandon Jennings is a stud. He'll learn to reel it in and make better decisions but he has a nice smooth jumper, great instincts as far as stealing and being in the passing lanes and my god is he fast. Also, nice job on Bogut. Similar to the Bynum comment, I'm not sure why the Bucks didn't go to Bogut every play, he was unstoppable for awhile. Carlos Arroyo is brutal.

I didn't watch any of it, but Boston with yet another blowout, and Philly is not a bad team. I'm impressed. Also kind of bitter I didn't see any of Dirk's massive 4th quarter and their comeback, but oh well...not much of a Mavs guy anyway

Yeah it's weird. In the one game I saw the Kings play vs. Hornets, he played very well against Paul. They played the Hawks last night and he didn't look good at all. Poor shot selection, some hesitation on open shots and indecision. He can definitely get to the basket, last night he wasn't finishing at all. Plus in terms of stats I think he's going to have trouble racking up big assist numbers because no one on the Kings can score besides K-Mart and it's not exactly like he's going to be left open. He made a great interior pass to Jason Thompson that should have been an easy score but Thompson blew the layup.

Watched some of the Lakers-Rockets OT game too...I just don't see how the Lakers don't repeat. That team is going to be extremely hard to stop. Rockets were double and triple teaming Kobe and he was still hitting and when he wasn't it left Bynum and Odom wide open for tip-ins. It's pretty much pick your poison, it would seem

but wouldn't the flip side to that be you said they looked real good last night against houston but it took overtime to win. I still have doubts about their defense and artest. I dont know if they are better than the spurs, celtics, or magic
