I think if he's still leading the league in rebounding by the break, then he gets in. I can't believe it, I was so against the pick, but damn if Noah isn't one of my favorite Bulls to watch.

Guys, if memory serves, the Bulls got Joakim Noah with the #9 overall pick, and part of the Eddy Curry trade with the Knicks I believe in 2006...

While Derrick Rose's game will continue to improve, I think Joakim Noah's in for a breakthrough season for the Bulls this year. I think Noah averages 10 points & 15 rebounds this season, thanks in large part to what he did in that 7-game playoff gutcheck vs. Boston and the extra time in the weight room during the offseason will pay dividends. Noah might warrant some All-Star consideration if he does, especially given the lack of true centers in the East beyond an aging Shaquille O'Neal in Cleveland & Dwight Howard in Orlando.

I hated the pick on draft night and still believe Hawes was a better player but he is far better than I thought he would be. I believe he could end up being a Rodman type player. I think his ceiling is somewhere around 10 points and 15 rebounds. I love the energy he brings every game.

I think you guys are going a little too far there. With 15 RPG, you're putting Noah up there with the all time greats:

I hope I'm wrong, but again, 15 RPG pretty much makes him a HOF'er.

Beyond the rebounding and the hustle what I like mos about Noah this season is that he is finishing at the rim.

He's had a number of nice drives to the rim where he finishes with a dunk, and an assload of putbacks. Without him cleaning up the glass, the Bulls' records would be very poor right now.

You know I always wondered about that aspect of Rodman's game. Wasn't he a prolific scorer in college? I seem to remember him being at least decent on the offensive end early on with the Pistons, maybe he just stopped caring about offense; though I think he could have scored more if he wanted to.

I used to love when Dennis would throw up 3's when the Bulls had a blowout lead. He might knock down 1/20, but it was always hilarious. Any other coach and any other team would have crucified him for it.

He has nearly 1000 points one year (an 11.6 average)...
Had a couple mid 9's/game average too, a couple high 8s but with Chicago that dropped to mid 5's.

I didn't read the whole thread so if I am repeating someone's point, I apologai.

The thing I like about Noah is his positioning. He isn't very strong, at least upper body strong, but he has sneaky strength and good positioning.

The key to being a good rebounder IMO isn't being able to leap out of the gym; it's about a sense of timing, balance and positioning as well as an instinct as to where the ball is going to end up. He has that ability.

There were two or three runs against Sacramento where they were looking to cut it to a single digit lead where Noah positioned himself to get easy tip ins that swung the tide.

His jumper is god awful, but his touch seems to be softening too.

The matchup in the middle tonight should be a doozy when the Bulls and NBA Champion Lakers tipoff just after 9:30p this eve on their favorite cable channel TNT. The Bulls' Noah and the Lakers' Andrew Bynum should be quite a matchup to watch for those staying up extra late to tune in...

I bet Mac is the only Media guy in all of Chicagoland who's going to watch the whole thing, SHARK. You think other reporters or broadcasters will be interested?
