The Sporting News reports: Ron Artest says he drank alcohol during games as a member of the Bulls, in part because the team lost so frequently.

"I used to drink Hennessy ... at halftime," said Artest, who played with the Bulls from 1999-2002 and now is with the Lakers. "I (kept it) in my locker. I'd just walk to the liquor store (near the stadium) and get it."

Yep. Never happened, imo. This is more of a "Look at me! I'm Ron Artest!" sort of thing...

no doubt an attention whore, but is it really that hard to believe? Barkley admitted to being drunk quite often. i'm sure they're not the only ones

Judging by the team records during the Tim Floyd years I find
this entirely possible.

99-00 17-65

00-01 15-67

01-02 21-61

That is a lot of losing and not caring. I could see him sneaking a
swig or two, but not coming out all jacked up.

I initially thought he was lying also, but he has admitted to some weird stuff. Like being a part-time employee at Cirucuit City while he played w/ the Bulls so he could get the discount. And approaching a nude Kobe in the shower after a playoff loss.

Keon Clark said he never played a game sober. This really isnt outrageous to believe, especially coming from Ron.

I don't know what's more unbelieveable...That Artest admitted to drinking Hennessy at halftime during the Tim Floyd era as Bulls' head coach or that he was wearing nothing but boxers during a recent appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live"...

Imagine how many NBA players play games with marijuana in the system?

It may be easier to imagine how many don't.

My Ultimate Starting five of guys who love the sauce:
(This team would dominate)

F: Dennis Rodman
F: Shawn Kemp
C: Vin Baker
G: Ron Artest
G: Rafer Alston

(This team needs a better point guard, suggestions are welcome)

He may not be better, but Chris Duhon might have had a little more Brian Griffin in him. So to speak.

He would definitely make the All-Food team, but Im not sure he could beat out Kemp or Rodman at the forward spots for the Alkies.

I almost did include Chris Duhon. I think Rafer has more talent and would give the Alkies the killer instinct.

Is there any room on the team for the Vaseline eating Marbury, or do we have to start an all mental team with him and Artest?

Any list of NBA guys who "love the sauce" that doesn't contain Roy Tarpley and Vin Baker is an incomplete list.

Vin Baker is on my list. I didn't have the time to field an entire roster, I just picked out the best starting 5 I could think of.

Really? I mean the guy has a DUI, has admitted to driving countless other times drunk, admitted to drinking before/during games.

Is it safe to say Shawn Kemp ate his way out of the NBA? At last check, that guy was beefy!

I gotta believe there's quite a few women out there waiting on a check from Mr. Kemp. Hopefully this brings out the Kemp mult or a Steve Garvey one to comment on fatherhood.

Not to mention that is just what he is doing when he isn't throwing fans and patrons through
bar windows.

To be fair to the CoF looking Skiles, I believe he was busted for the Tennessee Nose Candy at MSU.
