Bears' Adams benched vs. Rams

CHICAGO -- Gaines Adams is taking a seat on the bench, as the Bears have listed the former first-round pick as inactive for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams.

Adams did not appear on this week's injury report, so the decision is solely based on performance -- or lack thereof. In six games, Adams only has two tackles and one pass broken up in limited playing time. The hope is that Adams can be a factor in 2010, since the Bears gave up a second-round pick to acquire the defensive end from Tampa.


this would of been a high second round pick, say a good o/d lineman or a saftey whom knows how to play the postion, but no we dont have a pick now till the 3rd round.....and we have a player we dont want to play....

Gotta play him. If he's bad at least you'll know for next year. Devin A and Gaines should be playing the majority of snaps. Chris Williams should be on the left side every play for the rest of this season. See what you have for next year.

Could Lovie be giving a big F U to Jerry here or did they both realize he is no good? I didn't get the feeling that it was Lovie's choice fielding a couple of the players yesterday. It's not typical for him especially this early.

I don't think it's true but many on here believe that Jerry Angelo is so bad at making picks that not having them is actually a bonus.

This ultimately may be the trade that seals Jerrys fate. Let's hope so.

That is very disturbing, and I fear this trade may already be a bust, though I also question Lovie's talent evaluation and will never rule out that factor.

It was Rod Marinelli, Lovie's BFF, that was pimping for Gaines Adams here. So if Lovie was doing this to spite Angelo, he's making Marinelli look bad too. Of course, Marinelli's players do a pretty good job of making him look bad on his own.

Ogunleye is very good against bad players and very bad against good players.

So far it looks like Nas was right....

Lovie claims they dress more Dl players than most teams (8) and that is why Gaines was not dressed.
