I know the meat heads needed to see Rex throw a TD to make them happy. But whatever you thought of him today shouldn't change your mind one way or the other. He had a short field and on the TD nobody covered our great tight end. Any one of us could have made that throw. But I think Grossman will be just fine.

I agree with you Nas. Griese had some easy touchdowns too. I like Grossman. My point is that you didn't learn anything today. I've been a Grossman backer all along with you. He's not making the pro bowl but he'll be enough for what the Bears need. When I said meatheads I just meant the people who looked at Griese's numbers compared to Rex and said "see he's better". There are so many other variables you have to look at.

You've echoed my sentiments. He gets the first 4 games. If he's less then average after 4 then you make the move. I'm confiedent he'll be average at least and will improve from there.

I would like to add part of the reason those receivers haven't been open for Rex is that he A) doesn't throw the ball at that right time a lot a misses his shot and B) Locks on to one WR a lot which obviously won't make that gguy very open. Looked better tonight. Good luck Bears fans.

as far as the preseason comment....totally correct. doesn't matter if they won or lost last night.

however, those drives did mean something especially the dropped TD drive. did you see the emotion on the sidelines from the core players? butt slaps and high fives. those drives were huge for Rex's confidence, imo. Taking advantage of the good return is what they were suppossed to do and they did. not saying all is well.....don't get me wrong. not saying Rex has proved anything to me.......just sayin'

I think there's a good chance he'll be below average, but that doesn't mean the Bears will have a losing record. An the only way Grossman gets replaced is if his play leads to more losses than wins. Even with a bad Grossman, the Bears should be no worse than 2-2 after four games and will likely be 3-1. Consequently, Grossman will remain the starter for longer than 4 games.
