Bears 21 Pack 6. This is going to be a ground war with occasional flashes from Rex. The most exciting aspect will be the D returning with a vengence. Farve will throw two picks.

Wow I thought I was being optimistic getting 17! You guys have the Bears scoring quite a bit and that means a busy day for our defense. I do think Farve will have at least 3 turnovers from which Bears' D will score or set up an easy TD.

I hope the bears don't lose. In my best John Madden voice - You just never know what can happen when you play Brett Farve.

Spaulding, who says our offense is going to score? Favre is going to get picked/fumble the ball for 17 points at least, then rasheed davis with the deep touchdown catch to seal it ~

Last year 4 of the 24 interceptions were returned for TDs. I'm not sure how many of the remaining 20 interceptions put us in scoring position or how many FF were returned for points. It's a lot to expect of our defense.

I know preseason doesn't mean much but I haven't see the same fire in our defense in those games. I hope you are right and they are as good or better than last year.

I don't mean to be a contrarian, but I guess anybody who isn't a died in the blue bears fan would be a contrarian in this joint. Expecting a team's performance last year to repeat itself the next year in the NFL is usually an unfulfilled expectation. Also expecting a HOFer like Favre to suck this year like he did last year (when he was missing so many weapons around him) is also a large expectation.

In my opinion, this game is somewhat difficult to call because there's a lot of unanswered questions surrounding it. How much will Mike Brown play? How effective will Alex Brown be--if he can play much at all? Is Ian Scott recovered from knee surgery? Has the Packers defense taken a step forward after its offseason acquisitions? Will the Pack offense be able to take pressure off Favre by running the ball effectively? Can Rex Grossman conquer his early game nerves? Can he establish any consistency in the passing game?

I say this matchup will be a lot closer than the Kool-Aid Brigade of this board suggests, though the Bears will win in a squeaker. Grossman will throw at least one interception, but so will Favre. The Bears will be able to run the ball, but so will Green Bay. Ultimately, I like the big play potential of the Bears defense and special teams more than I like Green Bay's, so I see the Beloved pulling it out 20-19.

Of course it will be. It was close at the end of last year when Favre was down to only third string receivers and fifth string running backs. So what.

Just making a prediction, that's all--like everyone else in this thread. Not sure what the point of your response is or if you even have one.

I don't have much of a point, but this thread is tailor made for kool aid drinking. I get a contact high being within 5 posts of Nas.

It's in Green Bay and while Lovie has figured out how to beat the Packers, you have to wonder what Bears team really shows up this week. There is no reason that this team loses any of its first 3 games and I agree.

Bears 17
Pack 14

Jones runs for 80 yards and catches a TD pass. Grossman throws for 180 with 1 TD and 2 picks. Favre throws for 250 with 2 TDs and 3 picks

The Bears offense is brutal but the Pack are brutal on both sides of the ball...

If the Bears do somehow win this game, they will not cover.

Sip, sip, pass. I don't want to mess up that kool aid rotation.
