Beyond frustrating that there is basically an unprecedented about of quality, super bowl winning, coaching candidates available and we'll do nothing.

Still, we if we go 0-3 to close out the year in ugly fashion..you never know.

That's right. Shanahan, Holmgren, Cowher, or anyone else you could want will all be gone this off season. This is the year to make a move, when you have several possible HOF coaches. Who the hell will be out there next year?

Is it really too damn much to hire a coach with HEAD FUCKING COACHING experience, instead of a coordinator??? That REALLY pisses me off.

I've seen enough of the Lovie Smith movie like a lot of people, but the Bears are worried sick about the dreaded "l" word as in lockout beyond next season. I have as much confidence in Lovie right now as Cook County Board President Todd Stroger or one of those politicians and slick used car salesmen, but this labor showdown isn't going away. It's going to be a story to keep an eye on in not just how the Bears do business this offseason, but come 2011 if the Collective Bargaining Agreement isn't settled.

That's not Lovie's style to play the younger guys exclusively though. I'd like to see it, but won't happen. We'll know if Iglesias dresses on Sunday.

This should not surprise anyone. It is the wrong decision, but not surprising.

What a crock of shit that is.

Look at it from a McCaskey heir's perspective  . $ 41 million in net income(IIRC) spread around the family goes only so far :? . But now you want "them" to take another 11 mildo hit with a temporary choking of the golden goose coming?

Besides, you legitimately can't fire Lovie w/o firing Sweaty Teddy & the clueless Angelo. And how much will all of that cost???

I could see a point to that actually. If there's no season, why pay two head coaches? I'm assuming the coaches still get paid during a work stoppage though. At the same time, too damn bad. Get a real fucking coach in here.

I wonder if he plans on hiring a new DC, or will keep calling plays himself :puker:

Ron Turner has pictures of McCaskey with a mongoose. He's staying.

let's take up a collection to buy him out. I'm in for a c note.

Here is the thing. Are they really willing to let their investment in Cutler to go down the drain?

I'm to the point where I don't care about the games. I'm in the chat or doing other things. In the Wanne years they were bad but they played. It's like they are not playing anymore.

You're kidding, right? Unless you're promoting from within, why even pay for a group of lame ducks. No proven coordinator worth his salt is heading to the Lusitania for this ride.
