I believe they are now hoping to catch a 9:00 PM flight tonight out of Chicago, but, of course, this is dependent on the weather there.

In related news, in this decade, the Ravens are 8-0 at home when the game-time temperature dips below 40 degrees. Under coach John Harbaugh, the Ravens have dominated all three of these cold-weather games in Baltimore, outscoring their opponents 108-20 (that's an average score of 36-7).

Their success in chilly conditions isn't happenstance. Harbaugh stresses beating the weather to his players. During clear days, the Ravens soak footballs to get the players acclimated to playing in the rain. During the winter months, Harbaugh makes the Ravens practice outside (his predecessor, Brian Billick, preferred to move workouts to the indoor field house).

The hard work has paid off on game days. On Nov. 23, 2008, the Ravens routed the Philadelphia Eagles, 36-7, on a sunny, 39-degree day. A couple of weeks later, they topped the Washington Redskins, 24-10, on a clear, 29-degree night. Then, on Sunday, the Ravens roughed up the Detroit Lions, 48-3, on a rainy, 36-degree afternoon.

But the Ravens have always had success in the cold whether the coach was Harbaugh, Billick or Ted Marchibroda. In the team's 14-year existence, the Ravens are 10-1 in sub-40 degree weather at home, winning the past 10 games.

The running theme for the Ravens has been running the football. In the past six cold-weather games at home, the Ravens have produced more rushing yards than passing yards four times. It was the same way against Detroit when the Ravens ran for 308 yards and a team-record five rushing touchdowns.

The Ravens haven't been as dominant in the same conditions on the road. The only two away games that began with game-time temperatures below 40 degrees under Harbaugh were last season's AFC championship in Pittsburgh, where the Ravens lost, 23-14, and this season's contest in Green Bay, where the Ravens fell, 27-14.

Still, it's tough to beat the Ravens at home when the temperatures get close to freezing. It seems that the frigid weather actually helps the Ravens heat up for their playoff run.

I read yesterday their flight was at 10:30 PM Friday night. I thought at the time they were cutting it close. Why didn't they just go Friday afternoon? Maybe because that would have put the Bears on the hook for buying dinner Friday night for the entire team? And on the heels of the extra night in the hotel?

Now seriously what happens if they can't get out there ? Do they forfeit? Or is the game put off Baltimore needs to game for playoff reasons and the Bears need it so Lovie can evaluate talent , LMAO

The Chicago Tribune states
"The team is expected to leave O'Hare on a United Airlines charter flight around 8 p.m. and arrive in Baltimore about two hours later, or 11 p.m. Baltimore time.

Like none of these guys ever got to bed at 1 AM and played football at 12? yet alone 3:15!

What's FOX32 going to do come 12Noon tomorrow? Originally, it was supposed to be Bears/Ravens followed by Packers/Steelers before it was learned that the start time was pushed back to 3:15p due to the massive snowstorm. This morning, it was revealed that FOX would air the 49ers/Eagles' game in Philadelphia come 12Noon ahead of Bears/Ravens. This afternoon, the massive snowstorm that has pummeled Washington & Baltimore has forced the 49ers/Eagles' game to the same time. It means FOX airs either the one-sided game between Cardinals/Lions in Detroit or Falcons/Jets in the New Jersey Meadowlands at 12Noon, unless the NFL has adjusted that start time as well...

Hi Shark,
Another question: Does CBS air a game at 3:15 also against the Bears? I think there is some NFL rule against this. They might be forced to air a noon game instead.

FOX Sports' Dick Stockton & Trent Green provide the descriptions...I wonder if Jillian Reynolds, who has been off the "FOX NFL Sunday" pregame show this year due to her second baby, will be pressed into service tomorrow in the wake of the massive snowstorm...

Did the Ravens players clear the runway so the Bears plane could land?
