To be honest,I make a lot of non-meatball posts on here BUT it is the meatball posts that get the most attention.

I have never read a post of yours where I didn't shake my head because of your meatballishness. If you've had a non-meatball post I'd love to read it.

What is a "Meatball" anyway" Does wearing a Payton jersey while watching the game with a bunch of guys who are all loud & drinky qualify? That's me!
The alternative of course is to watch the game by yourself & keep quiet for the duration of the game like Bernsy. No thanks. It's more fun to be a meatballish fan. The self professed intellectual sports fans like Bernsy are miserable to watch a game with.

What am I then if I watch the game by myself, but am loud and drinky?

I look at it this way. Milton Bradley was a 20 million dollar mistake. The Cubs realistically had revenues of 220 million last year.

So Jim Hendry made a mistake that cost his employer 5% of his revenues in two consecutive years. What line of business do you have to be in not to be fired immediately after this mistake? I guarentee you if some Ameritrade exec in 1998 told Rickets' old man that he lost 5% of his annual revenue, for two consecutive years. in one fell swoop that guy would be cleaning out his office. This just isn't a bad signing for a middle relief pitcher, this is a franchise crippling mistake.

F-ck, if I told my boss that my mistake cost us .5% of revenues, I'd be dusting off my resume.

bad math, sorry about the edit

You can add A.Miles and Fukudome contracts to your equation.

Yeah, that 2.5 million they paid to Miles was a back breaker...
