The guys who are tagged A and B type free agents have a date which you can sign them and not owe the draft picks?

Is it June 30????? Seems deep into the season for that???

Dont have the time to google that, anyone know.

June 7th.

Do you think any of the type A, B free agents will still be available then? If so, who?

Edit: a team forfeits its draft pick for a type A, not a type B. The only Type A free agents remaining are Bay, Holliday and Valverde.

Type B you get sandwich picks between the 1st and 2nd round, they do not come from the player's former team however.

Dotel wasn't offered arbitration by the Sox, so his Type no longer matters.

I think it's the same for Tejada, but I'm not sure.

They are type A's but they were not offered arbitration. A team can only get compensation if they offered the free agent player arbitration and it was declined.

BINGO! This part I was aware of, but that June 7th date seems pretty late in the season.

Didn't have any one player in mind. I would never expect Bay to be around them anways.

They have until the date of the draft (which is June 7th).
