Yeah, it's corny, and the money would probably be better served given to the less fortunate this time of year, but a bunch of Chicagobears.com message board geeks are taking paypal donations to put up a Fire Lovie/JA billboard in time for the Monday Night Game. They will also continue accepting donations to take out a full-page ad in the Sun Times after the billboard goes up. It's meatballish, I know. But this shit has to change. Let's go high-rollers! Chip in!

I believe Bernsie called you an idiot today. And he would be right. Spend this money on people who don't have food or can't pay their heat bills this winter.

No, I'm not Uncle Meatball, spmack. Nor did I say that I donated, or that it was something that should be done at the expense of giving to charity. That would be stupid. Just posted it because its being talked about on the Score and WMVP, and also NBC-5. What charities have you been donating to, Jalapenos? How much have you shelled out this winter? Did you put a dollar in the bucket when someone was ringing a bell? Because that's the equivalent of what people are donating to this.

Bernstein should shut his fucking hole .... his rant about people putting up a billboard had only one correct point - it doesn't matter.

But as to his righteous indignation about these people who, of their own free will, elected to spend their money on something they freely chose to spend it on is just his tired holier-than-thou act that's tiring.

And, no, I did not spend money on the billboard because it is indeed three weeks past dumb.

Wanna say it's dumb? Terrific. Wanna bitch about what people do with their own money? Fuck off, you socialist sanctimonious sonofabitch.

I heard this Uncle Meatball on the M&H this morning. Two things:

-The guy doesn't even know where the billboard is
-The guy doesn't even know what's ON the billboard. M&H asked him what it said and he to wait for their website to load or something so he could read it from there

Sounded like a bumbling idiot. Just saying, if you're going on this media blitz, shouldn't you at least know what's on the freaking billboard? I mean isn't that the point? I give up

I guess with that way of thinking,Bernsie should be driving a Kia to work instead of a BMW. With the extra money,he can buy latex pants for the poor (or something!)

It's simple. Since they've invoked (illegally) the identity of a charity in their effort, the criticism is totally valid; had they not done so, the criticism would be moot.

What's illegal about saying that you may donate to a charity?

I just looked and I don't see any reference to "raising money for The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation" fund.

From the FAQ section:

QUESTION:
What will you do if you do not collect enough money or have money left over?

ANSWER:
We will either, depending on current events:
Continue our public relations awareness campaign
Donate all extra monies to The Walter & Connie Payton Foundation which you can find here: http://www.payton34.com
If you have a question that you would like answered please email: uncle_meatball@bearfansunited.org

Which amendment of the Constitution was that?

It was a joke about our Constitutional expert from the town of Elmhurst.

So how is it your fucking business to say where I should spend my money? I said I didn't give a dime to that website; I merely posted it for discussion. So it's ok for you to tell me that I should donate this and that, but not to ask you where and what you've donated? Go fuck yourself, dipshit.
