I keep wanting to like the Magic, but everytime I watch them I come away unimpressed.

right. Spoiled assholes. Cleveland can beat any team on any night. Btw, shaq can still play, just not with z at pf. Him and varajeou work good together.

He made a big difference today in the interior defense. I don't know how many times Kobe pulled up as opposed to keep attacking the rim.

what's going on with McGrady? Admittedly i didn't see any of the games he played since coming back but I thought reports were that he was playing pretty well. i know they only played him like 10 minutes a game though. i understand why they wouldn't want to buy him out and why they would want to trade him but why would they refuse to give him more minutes if he's playing OK? are they maybe concerned if they play him more and he sucks it will hurt his trade value? just wondering if the Rockets have determined he has nothing left what is going to bring to another team? I suppose he would have to agree to come off the bench or something like iverson wouldn't. but then there's always the choking reputation and the possibility to a contending team that he would upset the chemistry.

thanks for the sharp analysis there, i gathered that they want to move on without him.

i'm just wondering why...like if he's finally healthy and playing ok, why not play him. i guess they feel perhaps they've forged this new identity of toughness and defense and mc grady is neither tough nor plays any defense

this. He doesn't fit and they are better without him. It is a little offputting they are just sticking him in limbo though

ok nas- if that's what you heard that's understandable. i'm pretty certain i heard comments after his first game back that he was playing well, with energy and looked good in general. i was under the impression that he was playing well but being held back for some reason and that's what i didn't understand. it will be interesting to see what teams are going to be interested in him now that they're shopping him actively.

Well yeah but wouldn't it be a tremendous help to Houston??? Or would it just get them under the luxury tax or something? I know they're paying Yao an assload of money too so maybe that's the case. Cuz Mc Grady is around 22 mil I think.

In any case i doubt they'd take on bad contracts in return for him...let me ask a question: would you do it for Hinrich & Brad Miller? The salaries would work

fair point. so then why would he trade him and take back bigger contracts when mc grady's is expiring? if he's loathe to take on big contacts that would appear to be the logical move- just let him sit out or whatever and take the contract off the books this year. what team is going to trade for that massive of a salary by trading back expiring deals? mc grady isn't that good by a longshot. no one is going to give up 20 mil + in expiring deals with 2010 coming up to land him. so if not is he just going to sit on the bench the whole year? what a mess

right, i dont think he would. He's kinda the moneyball gm of the nba. Unless he gets good players with reasonable contracts i dont see him dealing t-mac

i agree. He doesn't strike me as the type of gm to make a trade just for the sake of making a trade. Kirk makes no sense when they already have lowry for a fraction of the cost and brooks as an emerging leader. They still could get value though without showcasing him. 23 million in cap room is very valuable this year

i really don't know why the ball isn't in lebron's hands every single possession. if not it's a wasted possession

i wouldn't put this in the douchebag thread because no one would look at it, but

NBA TV are colossal douchebags

Their video feed just went out for several minutes in the middle of the game. They started showing a commerical while the game was going on. Then, when they finally came back they had the local Atlanta feed- OK, fine but they still had their commentators doing the commentary and the audio & video were not synched up right at all. Plus, they are douchebags for having ernie johnson, chris webber and kevin mchale call the game instead of the local announcers like they usually do. i don't think i've ever heard ernie johnson call an actual game and he's terrible. and webber can be funny sometimes but his thoughts are ill timed and often foolish- it's like this is a really odd group they put together. reminds me of the MLB playoffs on TBS where they have people working together that never have and it sounds like it. Lastly, they have Craig fucking sager on here too...it just pisses me off that someone has made an entire career off of just wearing bad clothes. from all accounts he's a pretty big asshole too

right but nba tv is the nba's version of nfl network...maybe you should see if you have it. it's not part of the package. i get it free because i have the package but i think nba tv is in the same "tier" as nfl network so if you get that chances are you get nba tv

no i know for a fact that i dont. It's the first question i asked and i'm not sure why i get nfl network but they kept insisting there was no way for me to get nba or mlb tv or any of the sports packages
