While I would not turn down Wade, but I don't see it happening. I would be happy with Bosh and Joe Johnson.

Could be a pretty good starting 5:

Rose
Johnson
Deng
Bosh
Noah

I have not spent any time looking over the numbers of the cap, but I was under the impression that the Bulls will have enough space cleared in order to sign 2 pretty good players.

I am a big fan of Lee, but I think he does basically the same things as Noah.

Manu has been great, but at 32 he is getting too old to invest too much money IMO.

In lieu of all the Vinny talk, I'm sure that all of the Bull problems will not be solved by just making a coaching change.

With a projected NBA Salary Cap of roughly $54 Million for the 10-11 season, and the Bull sitting at a projected $38 Million payroll as far as guys under contract goes, who should stay, and who should go?

Are Rose and Noah your only untouchables?

Would anybody take on the contracts of Deng, or Hinrich, or Salmons, or Tyrus?

Do you try and trade Deng while he's playing well again, or are you a believer?

Do you "shoot for the moon" and try and land BOTH Bosh AND Wade? Way too unrealistic?

Salmons has the option of opting out of his contract and Tyrus is a restricted free agent. At this point, the Bulls have to be hoping that Salmons wants a fresh start somewhere else. As for Thomas, my guess is that the Bulls will let him explore the market, and then make a determination on whether to match a potential offer, probably based upon their own luck (or lack of) in landing a big free agent of their own. I think there's an outside chance that they could renounce their rights to him as well, I believe that would free up more cap room if that's what they are looking for.

I'm sure if Wade and Bosh both wanted to come here, they would work to make that happen, but I think it's highly unlikely that they get either one, much less both of them.

Deng is virtually untradeable with his contract unless you want to get back another guy's overpaid player. Deng is an ok player, but he probably shouldn't be better than the 4th option on a good team. On our team, he's the 2nd option most nights.

Nobody is untouchable - when you're this below average, if somebody comes to you, you listen. Moving Rose would require something pretty great in return and it's unlikely that they would trade him given how young he is with the potential he has so a moot point.

People say there is zero chance Lebron comes to Chicago, but I think the Bulls could be near the top of his list. I think besides New York, Chicago could be the number two choice. Lebron wants to build a Jodan-like empire with endorsements/movies/fan-love and knows that can be accomplished in this city. I really don't think he will go back to Cleveland, and if the Knicks still appear to be in disarray, Chicago might look like an attractive choice. He dragged a team of shit to the finals by himself, and I think the Bulls supporting cast would be much better than any Cleveland has ever put together.

Here's my lineup:
Deng
Salmons
Noah
Rose
Lebron

Not too shabby. Mix in another mid-level signing guy (perhaps Manu) and that makes for a decent rotation when you throw in Heinrich and Taj Gibson.

salmons is a bench player. if you have him in any starting lineup then your team sucks.

Salmons is much better when he has a guy around him to hit the big shots. Look at how good he was last year when the Bulls had Gordon. If they land Lebron, Salmons doesn't have to be "The guy" who has to step up and knock down the big jumper.

Nobody but Rose is untouchable, but Noah should be retained until his cap hit is deemed to exceed his actual basketball value. Unfortunately, I would be loathe to trust the Pax regime to make this determination...

I don't know if Bosh is considered a premier post up option. Otherwise, we are looking at a drive-kick offense, of which any number of guys would be compatible with Rose (Joe Johnson, LeBron, Wade)
