1) The Cubs will win 86 games and finish 2nd or 3rd in the NL Central.
2) Derek Lee will be traded at or near the trade deadline.
3)Soto will rebound to have a solid, if not spectacular season.
4) Aramis Ramirez will have more shoulder problems and have at least 1 stint on the DL.
5) Starlin Castro will be called up to the majors in June and installed at SS, with Theriot moving to 2B. Castro will give Cub fans hope for the future, playing very well and will be a ROY candidate.
6) Marlon Byrd will be an "average" player, who will prevent the Cubs from making a deal for a better player at the trade deadline, due to the fact that he will have 2 more seaons on the books to come.

Way to step out on a limb on this one.

Given Steve's history around here, those are pretty tame, realistic predictions.

I know you were asking the painter, but I would.

The question is...why in The name of the deity of your choice would the angels do that?

They have a younger version of lee for 8% of what Lee makes and he's not even arbitration eligible for 2 years.

Unless Jim Hendry or Hawk Harrellson is the Angels Gm...not gonna happen

exactly... they would have done it a year ago and the cubs would be in a way better place now. no change the angels do it now without a bigger package deal. the angels have no 3rd baseman and brandon wood is going to tank it in the bigs from all indications, so the cubs could theoretically trade Dlee and aram for kendry, and wood(while i dont like him, i think they have to include him just to get rid of him) and matthews jr. Because I do not expect the cubs to contend next year I would do that deal in a second as it should help out financially as GMJ should be done with his contract in a yr or 2.

To be fair last year Morales was a suspect at best. Brokeout at age 26 this year.

I still like Aramis and think he can contribute for a few more years at least. Why give up so much talent for a bad contract like Matthews and Brandon fuckn Wood?

The deal would essentially be Lee and Ramirez for Morales

If it was JUST that and you could free up 20 million dollars...I would do it. I wouldnt do what you proposed.

the angels arent dumb enough to do lee and ramirez for morales, they have to include GMJ, but i thought his deal is over sooner than later so it wouldnt be that bad, and theoretically he could actually contribute a little.

....matthews is only on the hook till 2011, have no idea how back or front loaded his contract may be though.

The Brand will sit in the bleachers in CF and hurl racist insults at Byrd, and then when Byrd gets pissed, the brand will call security and tell them Marlon's giving him attitude.

They average 39,500 and the ice rink does well.

They sign a washed up veteran they got rid of a few years before and their fans are annoying and care more about what the Cubs do then what their own team does. Oh wait...wrong forum.

Frank continues to make more posts in the Cubs section than the White Sox.

My prediction is likely to be the most accurate one so you both can go fuck yourselves.

I didn't mean to hurt your feelings, I was just making a Sox prediction. I feel I'm going to be the closest out of all the predictions.

Oh Hell Yes. To get a player of that ability, making far less money-in a NY minute. Then, they could use the money saved, to upgrade the bullpen. Plus, he hits left handed, so that would be an ideal move. But why would the Angels make such a deal??

Jim Hendry somehow becomes GM for the Halos.
