Annie's been muzzled today; problems in Pappy Land? It's still North and Heubner, but yep the show sounds 10x better today. I wonder if Matt has a continued presence on the show, if Fredrico will take his lead, grow a spine, and not be afraid to take Mike to task?

An actual morning show on the Score this morning that I could listen to....I am happy this morning to be listening.

It will be interesting to see what North says, if anything about this change, if it's permanent.

This is a new format. They can argue, and I'm sure they will, that the show was a sports show before this change, and they are right for the most part, but there was too many political exchanges, or just dumb arguments with Annie.

Now, we seem to be getting a sports focused show....no politics, etc.

Also notice that they seem to be taking at least some calls now...

With Annie getting, as Mike called it, a "well deserved raise", wonder what this means for Annie's future ?

I am the eternal optimist about Mike regaining his old form. However, you guys need to realize it is a Monday after the Bears game. The SCORE goes into 24 hour Bears talk on Mondays this time of year.

Good Point - however, I'm hoping that these changes are permanent, and will mean a new direction for the show.

My listening to Mike was the 6 to 6:05 AM slot, so didn't pick all this up.

I am conflicted as I type because I would hope that such a change, would be highlighted as bringing someone else to the "Morning Team" would be cause for a PROMO? or a BIG VOICE guy???

But then again would this be seen as a slap in the face to Mike North Morning Show Program Director and thus not highlighted?

If it is true. 4 people is way to many. WHY THE HELL DID MITCH GIVE ANNIE 100 GRAND TO STAY. If it's true that she's bareley a part of the show. First of all, you don't need somebody reading the news paper and giving the weather but if you must you could have got an up and comer to do it for 40 grand. Especially if that's all they're gonna do and they're not part of any discussion.

Simply put: Mitch is a retard.

It does irritate me that they seemed to have change the format of the show with the addition of Abatacolla, and they don't make any announcment - if this is permanant.

North often says what a good job Annie does - if he believes that, shouldn't he talk about the reason for the change ? He doesn't have to devote a show to it, but she was so hyped up by the station, and now she's basically gone. I'd like to hear North's explanation or spin for this move.

The Maxwell signing just makes no sense, with the increased presence of Drinky on the program.
I wouldn't mind if they removed Annie and Fred -- neither one adds much to the program. I wouldn't mind listening to a show where Mike had to defend his sports viewpoints -- something that just doesn't happen now. Stop the parrotting and the conservative-liberal fights. Take that stuff to NPR.

How dumb does Mitch look? Rock admits that the Score is having budget cuts. So Mitch signs Annie to a fairly nice contract and then imediatly diminishes her role. I mean that's just country stupid and reckless management. It must be a buddy thing as a favor to Harvey. But jeez it's just careless mis management.

This is all due to the fact that the Score negotiated essentially against themselves in acquiring the rights to the Sox broadcasts. It's been thrown around, that what, it's costing them around 2.5 million a year? What the fuck is Mitch thinking? Did he shell out that money just to hype the Score's other shows? If I was running a radio station the last thing I would want is exclusive rights to a pro team or college team's broadcast. Let's face it, radio's a dead and almost buried medium...EVERYONE has a TV now Mitch. If your shows can't get ratings on their own merits, having exclusive rights to the Sox, Northwestern and the Hawks especially is going to soak up the bleeding....And worst of all you piss off the fans of your most popular show (B&B) because their show's always getting interrupted in favor of the Mundane Duo.

2.5 million? They have to make twice that on the companies lining up to advertise on Northern Illinois Football games.

Talk about a 3+ hour black hole of radio.

Drinky is only on this week. Looks like a trial period. Mitch could have dumped Annie's contract and saved himself a big chunk of change by just getting Shadow Traffic people to do the news in the morning. Didn't Monica DiSantis used to do traffic and news?
