With Sean's attitude today, he should be fired immediately. Do not take a job in Chicago if you do not want to be here. I will never listen to this show again. If it wasn’t for MJH I would never listen to ESPN 1000.

Moos, what made today's performance anything different than the brooding, know-it-all norm?

Well, let’s see. In the first 10 minutes he:

1. Complained about being in Chicago…again
2. Questioned why Da Coach was not present yet, inferring that he gets preferential treatment.
3. Interrupted Rosy during his Bears/GMC read and questioned how many more adds he was going to read (I realize nobody likes reads, but that is how radio is paid for).
4. Questioned Rosy on weather or not he paid for his new car (which Rosy said he did. Like Sean every pays for anything when he is in Chicago (which is not very often)
5. Had a negative tone of voice, which I have never heard from a radio host.
6. Would not let Rosy go to commercials at 9:15. Saying “let’s take a few more phone calls…”

I am beginning to think this clown bag is being pushed down the throat of ESPN 1000 by the heads in Bristol.

He really complained about being in Chicago? Ouch.

The one I will disagree with you is this

Quote:
5. Had a negative tone of voice, which I have never heard from a radio host.

You've neard heard this from a radio host? First time listening?

Salisbury is Spaceball's baby. Maybe Salisbury is feeling the pain of working so many damn jobs and is trying to get himself canned by being completely an asshole to everyone at the station and to all the listeners

I have, but this was bad. It reminded me of Peter Gibbons from Office Space.

If there is one thing I've learned since I've been here, it is that Chicago Sports Radio Fans are very Chicago-oriented (see entire Score Advertising campaign).

Complaining about being in Chicago while on morning drive radio in Chicago is an act of suicide.

Ha, yea go for it. There's a good few of us that want this to happen. including people like yourself that were initially happy to see S & C move out of that slot. I've quieted those comments now though. Just a bunch of hot air going nowhere these days. I must have either missed your stuff on what Salisbury did or I have gotten used to it and it doesn't bother me anymore....I hope to God its the first.

Have you heard a lot of White Sox talk on WEEI in Boston or WFAN in New York?

Sports radio is like politics.

The only places the national shows are overwhelmingly popular is in places that have no sports teams of their own. When I say no, I mean NO. On a visit to Albaquerque the local sports talker spent a good portion of the show talking Isotope baseball.

Isn't the ESPN Radio outlet in NY successful ?

I'm taking Cakes in the dead pool next year. He's 43, he likes to party and he's got a huge work load. If the work doesn't kill him the travel will.
Appears on SportsCenter and NFL Live.
ESPN Radio 1000, Chicago along with other ESPN radio.
Speaking engagements and I think he does a charity golf outing.

Surely he can afford to quit am1000 and doesn't need a golden handshake by being fired (although he is probably writing monthly checks to the ex).

He has also gained a lot of face and has the bloated, ruddy face of someone with high blood pressure.

I agree with today's show, Salisbury was a dick today. I could only listen for 3 minutes and I was done when I was listening at 11:30, 10:30 Chicago time. He was saying that the White Sox season wasn't a disspointment, because they got on the topic of which season was more dissapointing, the Sox or the Cubs. He either said both or the Cubs. There was other stuff, can't remember much now. My thought whoever gave this guy a job, should look for another job. Mackey said he would answer questions this weekend, he has to put this guy on the tee and whack him 400 yards. Mac may say at least you listen, well 3 minutes is all I can take. Somebody start a web site www.Salisburysucks.com

I think I originally predicted he would be out by November, cause I knew he would start to hate his AM 1000 job after NFL season started.

Come on Sean. Take a breather... you work too hard man. Give yourself a break. Quit ESPN 1000 :)

Was thinking - For the travel to kill him he'd actually have to come to Chicago to do a show.

Why doesn't Rosey head out to Bristol full time and do an in studio show with Cakes. (Then he could muscle in on poker coverage). Surely the chemistry would be better. That being said, when they are next to each other it still sucks.

This is probably a question for "Ask Mac" but I would assume when someone is not in the room for production meetings and not next to you in studio it makes the show more difficult.

Nah, what's difficult for people is when someone they work with is an abrasive jackass
