I was talking to a buddy about how stupid it was to hire your line coach before your coordinator earlier too. What scares me is that they won't be able to find a OC, and will decide to promote him to the job. :bom:

Not a bad move. I try not to get excited or upset about position coaching changes one way or another. It's a lateral (or worse) move for Tice, so either money must be driving the switch, or he got upset about being hung out to dry by Del Rio during the USC search.

The hire before the O-Coordinator is found is strange, but Tice isn't an Alex Gibbs type that you have to build your offense around. Any mainline O-Coordinator should be able to work with him.

I would be surprised if Tice is making more as the Bears OC than he was as the Jags Assistant Head Coach. Ron Rivera was paid more as the Chargers Linebackers coach than he was paid as the Bears Defensive coordinator. The Bears have a reputation for going on the cheap with their assistant coaches & positional coaches.

Why do you hate Harbaugh? I mean I could understand it if you went to Ohio State or something. But he is gonna win some games in the NFL. Last weeks issue of The Sporting News has a good article about college football coaches who are primed for the NFL & they have Harbaugh at #1 as a lock to jump to the NFL, & to also be successful. He is one of the most respected young coaches in college & the NFL right now.
The Bears should be talking to him right now about next year...unless he wants the Michigan job.

TSN should know better than to call a college coach a lock to jump to the NFL AND be successful. Then again, TSN is a joke.

I have a bad feeling that the Bears are going to announce that Mike Tice is their new OC, claiming that was the plan when they hired him. I hope I'm wrong. No one wants to come here & work with Jerry & Lovie.
