Larry Holmes- This would be similar to the episodes where Lionele would visit Archie Bunker. Lionele would insult Bunker and Archie was so dumb he'd take it as a compliment.

Drinky- Fast talking, bar room one liners would occupy alot of the show. Stupid meets common sense. He will insult Pappy but Pappy will know he's been insulted.

Jesse- He would kiss Pappy's ass more then anybody. Pappy got him his start and helped him along the way. It would be Funny Stupid vs Stupid stupid.

Gail Fisher- You know they could kill two birds with one stone with her. She could be the women that they try to pair Pappy with. I'm sure she could read the news and obviously not be lost talking sports. I'll bet Annie will resent her the most when she comes in. Women generally hate other women and she would feel threatened more by her then the men because of what I just said.

Make your predictions boys. I'll say Larry gets it.

Gail may be the darkhorse sleeper choice since as you say, she's the female who wouldn't be lost talking sports.

I think they will stay in house though and think it's Matt or Jesse.

It really should be an easy choice - Matt adds a lot to the show.

I have no doubt Mike has a strong say in the pick and that Jesse is his choice.

I feel I know Score management pretty well.

Knowing that Matt is the best choice (even though we haven't heard the rest of them audition yet), I am guessing they will choose Larry.

To Mitch Rosen, 2+2 doesn't necessarily equal 4.

Dolphin I think Mitch has finally pulled back on letting Pappy make decisions. He's stuck with his contract but I think Mitch will actually decide this one.

They finally realize this after Pappy's failed at 3 consecutive time slots. This audition obviously wasn't Pappy's call. He doesn't want anybody in there with a spine and logical opinions. Your right when you say he wants Jesse. Mitch probrally threw him a bone by letting him audition but has no intentions of putting Jesse in. He's in the audition to stroke Pappy's ego that he still has some say.

I would like to Jesse in any chair that doesn't have a mic in front of it.

Anyone, I repeat, ANYONE, who would be in a position to be somewhat equal to Pappy, be able to argue with him, and perhaps participate with him in an interview now and then, would improve the show. Stop it from being a god damn kiss-ass Pappy-fest and a real sports-talk radio show and maybe you could interest me. And you know what? I unequivocally reserve my final opinion until I hear her, but Gail Fischer--IF SHE IS ALLOWED NOT TO BE A SHRINKING VIOLET AND A TOTAL KISS-ASS--might actually work. She seems intelligent, well-spoken, and has covered just about everything in local sports from Cubs pre- and post-game to Bulls sideline to the Illini in the Final Four. Gail, Matt, or whomever, just help me. I really like to listen to local Chicago sports talk in the morning, and Mr. North and his ego have made it damn near impossible for me the last couple of years. Thank you, WSCR, for at least appearing to TRY to fix this problem. The fans have spoken--the ball is now in your court.

nothing against holmes, fischer or rogers [okay, maybe something against rogers], this show needs a new voice.. something fresh.. something new.. dare i say.. someone from outside the market?

As much as i would love to nail Gail, I've seen her on CLTV Sports Night and heard her with Rosie, and she dont know much. It's like Pappy and Annie on politics, Gail knows the basic talking points of sports, but she offers no real insight.

Larry wouldn't be able to start till February because of the Bears beat.

I'm sure Mike has lost alot of his pull, but it's still his show, so Jessie is a front runner. But I think Drinky will get the nod. He'll be able to help behind the scenes and Terry always calling him the "Next Big Thing", as well as BB Overtime and Last Call makes me think management is pretty high on him.

An electric chair would suit me just fine.

As for Mitch stroking North's ego by allowing Rogers to audition, I have ZERO faith that they will make the right choice on picking the right person.

This seems like a lose/lose situation. Holmes is too good as a Bears reporter to waste him on the morning show. I'm still holding on to hope that Drinky and Jason Goff get Last Call on regularly, so I don't want Drinky on the show either. And the other two choices are, frankly, awful. I don't even know what to think about this mess.
