So the Sox lost the Seven-Eleven account...and will not start their games at 7:11 anymore . Instead, they will start their games at 7:10. Considering their radio flagship is 670....why wouldn't they start their games at 6:70 ???? Brought to you by WSCR... The Score!

To easy.

OK...I'm going back to watching the NFC Championship now.

Yeah all 4 of the ads inside Wrigley are just too much already.

On 1/2 price Mondays, Kids' Days, or having all the stuff that makes the park a blast for every kid, I've appreciated the hell out of all of that sponsorship. But maybe that's just me

Actually Jerry Reinsdorf is really good at caring about the family/working man.

The bulls have a family deal that doesnt sound bad either.
Reinsdorf is a good owner

You make it seem like the Sox are the only ones who whore themselves out to get a few extra revenue bucks, Roger...

This thread is going to be pretty funny when it's announced that the Cubs now play at Wrigley Field at Southwest Airlines Stadium.

Yeah thats actually a solid deal. For less than $130 you can take a family of 4 to a Bulls game, feed everybody, and still pay for parking.

Also it was reported he moved sunday Sox's games to 2:00 to accomadate church goers. Say what you will about him but he cares about and listens to his fans.

Also he has 7 Championships

EDIT: The guy next to me at work is yelling at me that Reinsdorf didnt care about the fans at first. Got rid of free tv etc. So I guess NOW he is a good owner.

They had 2:00 Sunday starts a couple years ago too. Not sure whey they flipped back to 1:05.

Sox attendance is always debated/made fun of, but there are usually good deals out there-- esepcially for weekday games. They have family packs and such that come with a ticket and food vouchers, and I think they even came with a Tshirt last year.

Take a look at pictures of stadiums from before the 70s. The stadiums always had advertising on the walls.

I always liked the 2:00 start because that can be a bit of a haul from the NW burbs, and it was worse with a hangover-that extra hour makes a big difference.

I don't see how the Sox or the Score would stand to make any money by promoting 670 as the start time. They're already tied to each other. What would change?

Why do people care about advertisements and sponsorships inside a stadium? It's Major League Baseball. I don't care if they sell home plate if that extra money means a higher payroll.

Trust me, if Wrigley Field wasn't already considered a "brand", they would find ways to get more ads inside that park. The only reason there isn't more signage on that outfield wall is because it's covered with ivy.

Maybe the Brand can get his name put on the ballpark

I have my own reason why the White Sox started Sunday afternoon games at 2:05p a few years ago, Frank. To my knowledge, many Sox fans went to church which prompted the later start time on Sunday afternoons until a few years ago.

I don't think people care about a few straight out ad signs. It's understandable, but going to a Sox game now I feel like the scene in A.I. with all the ads blaring at once. I don't like going anywhere with too many signs, I just feel like the place is more concerned about me doing this and not doing that, then when I miss a sign , I violated some rule they created and now subject to the punishment they have for me in the small print because I crossed the red line on a Friday before 1 PM!! :!:
