As much as I'd like him to go in as a Cub, he did most of his damage as an Expo

Ok... this to me is almost a relief. How many all stars can we have from teams who won nothing?
I like Dawson and all but that 89 team is going to have several HOFers (just like 69) and they didn't win anything...
Maddux (a lock)
Dawson (in)
Sandberg (in)
Grace (a shot?)

No more Cubs to the hall until they win a goddamn WS!

Thats a good point. I dont think Grace has a shot though.

Actually the 88 squad is even worse. They didnt win a division. If Palmeiro gets in he will be the 5th. Gossage was on the 88 team.

The 92 team had all those listed in the original post and Sosa too!

But it's when they play together that matters.

As far as the cap my reaction is meh. Doesn't matter to me.

This is the right choice, Dawson put up most of his #'s as a Canadian.
Maddux put up most of his #'s as a Brave

Re run those numbers Frank. The Expo Cub split is closer than you would think.

Your anti-cubdom is hilarious though

The split is similar. This is all about being in Montreal longer.

Maddux is going in as a Brave though.

I could care less what hat he wears, just glad he is in.

Since when did a WS title become a prerequisite for guys getting into the HOF?

It isn't. Further that's not my point.
What I'm trying to say is, a team with 4 HOF'ers should have actually won something and the fact that they didn't speaks of underachievement or overvalue.

Grace has NO SHOT at getting in. I am glad Dawson is going in as an expo...and who really cares anyway? It is the person going into the hall, not the team.

What hat he wears means nothing. He is going in for his career, not for just his years with a certain team. Either go in with a blank hat or go senior bowl style and put em all on the same hat.

Do you know who had the most hits in the 1990's? I mean, in the whole decade. Out of everyone that played the game in the 90's. Do you know who that man is? I'd say that's being the best at what you do for an extended period of time, and isn't that just what the H.O.F wants? "NO SHOT"? You're clueless.

A singles hitting non run producer, that's what the HOF wants right?

Mattingly, Dale Murphy, Dwight Evans, Tim Raines, Fred Lynn & Dave Parker will(should) all get in before Grace even gets more consideration for the Hall.

I don't think anybody really considers him going in as an Expo a loss...

PcB, you actually think Grace has a chance? I dont. He's in the notch just below IMO

If he played 2b maybe the hits would mean more, but at his position, there are too many better players.

I don't think he has a strong chance, but to say he has "NO CHANCE" is just stupid.

Does this mean we can all agree on my original "a shot"?

Yeah, I don't understand the reason you were called on it in the first place.

Dale Murphy should already be in. Any HOF that Bill Mazeroski can get in ain't that exclusive.

Grace has NO SHOT. Call me stupid.
