I dont think buying one of those stupid wristbands= "This is the year"

but whatever. Hundreds= a very small percentage of cub fans.

I have never once said "this is the year" but I have been caught up in a good season before.

I dont really understand the whole "dont get ahead of yourself" part of fandom. Do you win some sort of prize for being realistic/pessimisitc? I mean its sports, its entertainment, its supposed to be fun. If you dont get wrapped up in it why bother?

Just my opinion

Oh and Let me go on record as saying "This is not the year"

The only year of my cub-fandom where I was "This is the year" giddy was 2004. But I had my Cubbie heart ripped out and stomped on by a bunch of under-achieving whiney babies. I don't think I will ever be that giddy again.

Fucking Awesome....HOOTERVILLE FANBOY PISSING MATCH....and it isn't even BRACELET TICKET DAY..at Ricketts Stadium yet....where goofs with "It's Gonna Happen" signs tell some dork from WGN Radio: "This is the Cubs' year" while they wait in the cold for their numbers to be called to buy those cool Terrace seats behind a post where you can't see the scoreboard for those dastardly Pirates and wait to tell some dunce with a camera from Comcast how lucky they are!!!!
Maybe North can get a cameraman over there to talk to the mopes that will be lined up.   8)

Oh yeah its all good. After the Superbowl its Go time with Cubs/Sox stuff.

Seriously count how many times Hendry says obviously. If he speaks for 10 minutes he'll say it 25 times.

Welp, that'll learn me to poke fun at the White Sox' unending quixotic pursuit of sacrifice bunts in a tiny park. Look at all this. I don't know what I expected, really.

I'll start many I'm sure this summer, but this is classic case of the refs seeing who retaliated;
Quote:
You guys say this EVERY YEAR!

Quote:
1) We're gonna get back to playing Ozzieball this time!
2) Paul Konerko to the Angels?!?!?

Johnny Damon is still unsigned and his pricetag is only coming down.

Edit: Scratch that. I forgot Boras is his agent.

But where do you play him? Do you really want to give CQ the full time DH label at such a young age? If you do you could be doing more harm than good. What about Juan Pierre, what does that deal mean for him then? I usually like your insight but, I believe you might be a little off base here. O.K. Peace Out!!!!

I figured Damon could DH and occaisionally spell Pierre in left. He's a lefty that can hit 20+ HR's and he's not a base clogger so he has value. This would still create a roster crunch and they would have to drop someone from the 40-man roster but a player with Damon's ability and pricetag doesn't come around everyday. He could be this years Bobby Abreu. It's a mute point because he won't sign here anyway.

You have to admit the eternal Konerko-to-Angels running gag is pretty funny.
