Prediction: Bulls win a playoff series

Unless the Bulls get to the 5th seed, and get to play Miami, there is no way they win a playoff series. They will not beat Cleveland, Boston, or Orlando in a 7 game series.

I believe they would give Orlando or Boston a series. Especially after they trade for Bosh.

paxson doesn't have the balls to trade for anyone other than devin brown. he won't pull the trigger. i mean, it might turn out good- as in signing Bosh- it's just an all or nothing proposition. it basically comes down to this

-take the 'safe' route and trade for Stoudemire. you get somebody. somebody that's good, above average- but someone that has a lot of baggage, both emotional and physical

-wait and try to sign Bosh, Joe Cool or King James. Big risk, big reward. fail and you're left standing at the altar.

So Bulls vs Celtics
or
Bulls vs Magic

You guys dont think the Bulls, as currently constructed, have a shot at either?

You're right, my bad. Atlanta is in the top 4 in the east, not Miami. I think the Bulls could beat Atlanta maybe. But the other three, no chance.

No. I think vs. the Celtics, Rondo and Rose would be about a draw. obviously it depends on the Celtics health. if garnett is out, big problem. if allen continues to give 9 ppg and 35% shooting, big problem. i still think Celtics would win the series though. No chance vs. Magic. Noah, Miller, Taj, etc. cannot stop Howard...in a 7 game series I'd say Magic 4-2. I'd give the Bulls a few games but that's it

I think the Bulls could beat any team in the East in a playoff series except the Cavs and Magic. Lebron and Howard are just too much for them to handle in a series.

Obviously, the Celtics and Hawks would be the favorites to win a series, but each has their weaknesses that if things fall right the Bulls could pull off a win.

I really hope the Bulls find a way to pull off a trade for Bosh, but I don't have any confidence that they will.

I do too...I think they'd at least have a chance vs. the Hawks....they can match up w/ the Hawks athleticism....Noah can handle Horford...no way Bibby or Crawford could guard Rose either. I think it would be a fun series and I think Atlanta would ultimately win but it would be close, lot of good matchups

In general I agree with that- you'd give them no chance vs. Cavs or Magic, but while you'd favor Celtics or Hawks, you could still see them winning either.

Agreed. The two games the Bulls have played this year against a healthy Celtics teams have been blowouts. The one win they got a couple weeks ago was a game that Garnett sat out. If they play the Celtics, it will pretty much be a replay of last year's series if they don't have Garnett. It will be competitive, but I don't think the Bulls could beat them.

As for Orlando, Dwight Howard would eat them for lunch.

bagels, what are your expectations for the Hawks in the offseason and next year? They going to be active in the FA class?

i'm scared, to be honest. that's why I'm trying to enjoy this year as much as possible as I realize it's most likely going to be over. I'd hope they'd resign Joe, but realize it's probably not likely. They do have Horford for another year and have Josh Smith locked up for awhile. Still, without Joe they're just an average team, if that. i'm from chicago and would be happy if the Bulls signed Joe, but aside from that I don't really want him to go to the Heat or something. ATL has never been known as some team to wow free agents with big deals...if they aren't able to resign JJ I don't expect them to go after Bosh or something.

How the hell did Andre Miller hang 52 on Dallas Saturday? That was some serious "old man ballin" there.

Offensive explosion on 19-of-27 shooting established Pippen’s career-high in 1997

Pippen Fired in 47, Earned Praise from Jackson

In a mighty display of offense, Pippen posted a career-high 47 points as the Bulls took a high-powered win, 134-123, over the Denver Nuggets at the United Center. Pippen was unstoppable, connecting on 19-of-27 shots from the field and all seven of his free throws in 41 minutes of action.

“Everything just started to flow my way,” he said. “I was just cutting and being in the right place at the right time. There weren’t any spectacular shots that I was consistently knocking down. Guys were just dropping the ball down to me.”

I'd take FUTURE HALL OF FAMER Scottie's 47 in a tough win over Michael Redd, Jamal Crawford, or Gil Arenas scoring a meaningless 50 in a loss.

Oh, and M-Jeff scored 63 points in a playoff game in 1986. Boston still swept em.

Bryan and Bagels, I really don't want to fight you guys. I haven't been in a fight in a long time. You guys are currently employed as my "hype-men." Stay on my good side guys.

I disagree with you guys on the Bulls playoff chances. While Dwight could average 25/20, I still think the Bulls can beat them. They clearly are much worse with Vince than Hedo(Something I said would happen.) As for the Celtics, Sheed looks fatter than Shaq, and the Ray and KG are almost unrecognizable. PP and Rondo are the only ones holding that team afloat(although, I'm not sure you can really call a 6-8 January staying afloat.)

For my money, right now the Hawks are the 2nd best team in the East and if I HAD to make a pick right now, they lose to the Cavs in the ECF. Those are the only two teams I dont think the Bulls have a chance at winning.

Also, to Bagels point on a potential Hawks matchup, when it comes down to crunch time, the difference is JJ can lock down Rose. Noone can lock down JJ.

Yeah, Gay came up big. Conley should've been a goat. Of course, the entire game highlights on ESPN were about Kobe.

Yeah, but it sucks for those of us that want to know what actually happened, and dont have the League Pass, or even NBA Network. They didnt even say one sentence about Randolph dropping 22-17

Didn't watch the game or see any highlights, but I just saw this video of Rudy Gay hoisting up a full-court 3, with 7 seconds left on the clock in the first quarter.  oops. Good thing the Grizz won, cuz this could have cost them the game.
