Sure he's 'only' had 106 and 117 hits the last two season but he only had 375 and 380 AB's. Given a full season he should be around the 180 hit mark.

Right. When Mark Buehrle goes 15-13, Danks and Floyd alternate months of decency and months of raw suckage, and Peavy ends up on the DL by June, Juan Pierre patrolling the outfield and not getting on base will really be an asset.

Also neither Danks or Floyd have ever had periods of "raw suckage". I bet Danks has a huge year this year.

And Jay Cutler threw some interceptions. What else you got? Danks and Floyd have been inconsistent (as any young pitcher will be), but Danks also finished 2008 with an ERA in the low 3's (3.2something I think?). To do that, you cannot possibly have a month of "raw suckage." The Sox starters alone could end up with 65 or 70 wins easily.

Also, both had months of pure raw suckage last year. They finished a combined two games over .500, and the offense was unquestionably better. The defense was probably better too. But keep clinging to raw hope.

Floyd had something like a 9.00 in April. This made his recovery the rest of the season all the more remarkable. I'd be shocked if Danks had a month in the 5s.
