John was in attendance watching the Colts last night at Super Bowl XLIV, Makalu. He'd be a natural when the Colts' new stadium is scheduled to get it in 2012...

Hopefully there'll be a Super Bowl 2012...

The CBA expires at the end of the 2010 season, so the lockout would be the 2011 season and the 2012 SB would not be played.

The point is, having artists perform that are still in their prime and capable of the kind of performance that would be expected (or should be) at an event like the Super Bowl. Sheryl Crow, John Mayer, Matchbox 20, would be acts I would think of, as being both popular enough as well as still at the top of their game. The Who is WAYYYY past it. The songs sounded awful, as the singing was brutal. As I stated in the call, there is a reason that MLB did away with the old timers games. It was nice to see the old players tip their cap and smile, but they couldn't play the game well enough to be entertaining anymore and it was sometimes embarrassing. Thus, they did away with those games. It's no different when they get groups like the Who performing at a level such as they did. The halftime acts should be the most popular comtemporary artists, at the pinacle of their career's, not old guys that can't perform at the level that made them popular decades ago.
