While I don't bedrudge them the ability to make money, maybe the attorneys can step in here, but I was pretty sure the same Illinois Law that prevents me from legally selling my tickets above face price prevents the actual teams from selling the tickets to the public above the printed price on the ticket?

Here is the email I just got

Starting Monday, February 15th at 10am CT, fans will have first access to all Chicago Cubs 2010 regular season home games by going to Cubs.com and paying a 20% premium on the face value of the ticket. However, if you use a MasterCard card during this Pre-Sale promotion you will save 5% on the pre-sale price. In addition, you will receive a 20% discount on your next purchase at the Cubs.com Shop when you enter this code (CHC20FEB) and use your MasterCard.

so, you save 5% if you have a mastercard and do the full promotion...and buy the same tickets for a premium game during the public sale.

Doug, it's a 20% premium without a MC, but a 5% premium (Saving 15%) on the face ticket price

The way I'm reading you pay a 15% premium, saving 5%.

Agree with Lipid, lol.

Regardless, it is either 15% or 20% above the Fave Ticket price, which was the crux of the lawsuit of the WrigleyTicketCompany fiasco.

Which the bribed judge sided with the Cubs under the pretense that "The Cubs" are not re-selling the tickets, another company owned by the Tribune was reselling the tickets.

So, I am guessing these Monday tickets are via the BS company they set up, working off the same bribed judges bullshit decission.

sorry, I wasn't clear enough but I understand how it works. hence "do the full promotion"

they just happen to know you likely will not be able to save the 20% if you bought 2 bleachers presale and 2 bleachers public sale, for the same game, in order for the full promotion to work (for the fan)...due to demand.

Bigfan....I noticed that you listed some of your "extra" tickets for sale on this site. How much over face cost are you selling those tickets? It may be gouging to sell the tickets at a premium as they are, but it's still better that paying double, from a scalper.

There's a reason the Cubs should keep ticket prices high. It keeps the unmentionables out of The Shrine.

What's wrong with balcks Steve?

Read the signature a bit closer DIPSHIT. I had nothing to do with this post. I would guess it was the work of Irish Boy, or some other idiot.....though the sentiment is not completely without merit.
