Chris Berman or Shaun Salisbury?

My vote is for Shaun since at least Chris Berman is good at one thing. I actually did enjoy Chris Berman's halftime highlight show but after 3 minutes I was ready to not see him for a week.

Salisbury sucks as a radiohost, sucks on ESPN, and his biggest NFL accomplishment is being a starter. Why is he being jammed down our throat when there are so many people that are better at radio/tv?

What, praytell, is that one thing? Rating buffet spreads? Coming up with annoying sounds and nicknames?

To be honest, I'm a little sick of people ripping on Salisbury for not being a good NFL quarterback. The guy managed to keep his NFL job for ten years. I don't give a shit if you are third string your entire life. ANyone that makes it to the NFL is in a league where the best of the best play. He had to work his ass off to get in the NFL and remain in the NFL even if it was as a backup for the most part. You have to give him his due for doing something I don't believe anyone else on this board has done or could have done.

With that said, I'm done with Berman. I really have no use for him.

With Salisbury, I still...and you know how critical I am of this guy....feel like he has the potential to be a good radio host. He simply has to get over himself. Again, I believe S&R has been a better show since may/june/july months. Am I saying Sean's a great host for this city and that I'm not pissed he eeps his home phone on during his show? No.

Chris Berman needs to go back back back and host classic ESPN. Where he belongs.

My favorite Sals moment is when they had him debating against himself on a sportscenter segment. It showed just how much crap this man can really pour out of his mouth.

Well yes there's Jurko. The point is these people that say stuff like that obviously have no clue just how hard it truly is to get and stay in the NFL. Give the guy some damn respect for that no matter how much you hate him.

Didn't say he does, but why dumb yourself down and play his game? That makes you sound pretty damn immature. I just hear a lot of people say, "Well he was only a backup in the NFL. What does he know?" OK, then. If you want to play that game then why the hell are we bothering listening to almost anyone on sports talk radio then? I forgot that Mike Golic was a seven time pro bowler, that Mac played defensive end for the Raiders for eleven seasons, and that Matt Abattacola was a starting guard for four years at North Carolina. Stop trying to correllate his NFL career as to what insight he can bring to the radio booth. That's just makes you look flat out stupid. You can say he sucks or whatever, but its not because "Sean was a professional backup quarterback."

I have to agree with Ryan on this one. Salisbury's past incompetencies aside, most of us really like John Clayton - what qualifies him to be an NFL expert?

However, I also see Nas' point of view - this bag of douche doesn't show respect to anyone. He's a walking Napoleon complex, and if you want to bag on him I won't stand in your way.

Not an apologist. I'm just saying that's the dumbest reasoning I've ever heard to say why Sean isn't qualified. A lot of people sasy that, and I'm like..ok, whatever. Just had to get it off my chest. You know I have more than enough reasons on why Sean is not my favorite talent. Hell, the whole George e-mail I wrote about his home phone put that man in another tizzy.

I think secretly you are a fan of the show. You've been pining since its inception that we "have to give him time". Bullshit. It doesn't take anyone this long to find their style and flow. He blows Woodridge--as a radio host, as an analyst and did as an NFL player. This is the equivalent of Hub asking a caller "where they coached." Get off the ESPN wang and join the rest of us.

Rosenbloom is a giant asshole. The guys nails a girl host at the score and a fat one at that and he thinks he is untouchable. I loved it when they canned his ass, he was on the verge of tears, it was a classic moment.

I haven't said we have to give it time since its inception up until this point. I damned this show quite a few times. I wrote it off for the entire month of June I believe. I listened to Mulligan and Hanley and enjoyed it quite a bit during most of july and august. I wanted to hear the sho"during football season" to see if it woul be any better. It is, but it still has a long way to go. There's more than enough posts for everyone to know how I felt about this show Crumbs. Apparently you havent read them.

I'm okay with Sean being reminded he was a back up. He acts like he is a HOFer. He reminds everybody else they didn't play in the NFL so turn about is fair play. How many times a week does he pull out his jock card? That's BS and insulting.

I think he's speaking of an aspiring pastry chef with the initials JS.

Thanks for the post X. It is now clear based on that story or fable, that you ARE the guy that Rosie caught abusing himself in the mens room.

You don't need Xscoreguy to narrow this down. There was only one girl host in the history of the Score.

Bear or someone else, for those of us who don't know, can you fill us in on this Rosie story? I have never been a Score-head, and have no clue.

The funny thing about this thread is that it's given this show the most real run here ever. Good work!
