3 DNF's in 3 Nationwide races after Danica's #7 GoDaddy.com Chevy crashed today in Las Vegas. I've seen enough!

She finished last week SHARK. She was one of the biggest movers this week, moving up about 12 spots before she was wrecked.

Even though Danica has no business in NASCAR, she is selling a lot of merchandise. I thought I saw a stat during ESPN2HD's coverage of the Nationwide Series race Danica was part of in Vegas, and she's already 4th in NASCAR sales.

The wreck was Dannys fault. Mcdowell was slowing & she got way too close to him. A good driver goes low in that situation & avoids an accident. She drives into him then she is waving her arms in the air as she drives into pit road. At least we don't have to be subjected to the Danica circus in NASCAR until June 26 in New Hampshire as she will be driving in Indy Car for the next 4 Months.
Dannys record in the Nationwide series so far:
Race 1. 35th
Race 2. 31st
Race 3. 36th.

Watch the replay & you will see that Danny was going at least 10 miles per hour faster than McDowell yet she maintains her line going into the turn rather than going low. Do you think Gordon or Johnson hit McDowell in that situation? Not a chance.
NASCAR cars are much more difficult to drive than Indy cars, & so far Danny can't handle a stock car.

I will continue to support her attempt to compete in this circuit for one main reason - she brings eyeballs to the TV screen and that accomplishes my main wish in NASCAR as it relates to the broadcasts - to find a single, main network home for the Sprint Cup, like NBC or ABC. That is good for NASCAR.

Wishing for her to do poorly does nothing for me. She adds an interesting aspect/storyline to a league that can use as many of those as it can get.

She had a great post race quote. Something along the lines of, I just feel bad for all my fans and people who came to watch me. That sounds either super arrogant or completely clueless. I highly doubt there is a single person inside the garage area that can stand her unless they are making money off her. One each side of her crew chiefs head is a voice. Nearly every race car driver has had a top 6 finish at least once. Blind squirrels find nuts too. But Dannys overall record & body of work is very Anna Kournikova like. Her Indy car record is terrible & her stock car record is even worse. Danny certainly doesn't deserve to race with the big boys in Sprint Cup & I'm not sure that she should even be running the Nationwide series yet either.

She is an average to above average overall in IRL, but she also gets a top of the line ride which means quite a bit there. If she were a complete garbage driver then she would wreck there all the time too, which she doesn't. She isn't good enough for anything in a stock car above the arca series though. The only variable she has that gets here there is that she is hot which equals money.

I took a quick look. In 5 1/2 years of Indy car, she has 27 top 6 finishes. She finds a lot of nuts.

I don't think she should be running Sprint Cup now either. And, sure, it might be better if she ran an entire season of ARCA to get better in the cars but sponsorship realities aren't going to allow that.

And so what if she ends up like Anna Kournikova? She was no joke. She was one of the top 10 tennis players in the world. I don't think Danica would ever be a top 10 driver in Sprint Cup. But, if she can be a top 15 or top 20 driver, which she probably can be in a few years with some time and practice, I'm all for it.
