jason goff is a so much better listen then speigel is..., it sorta makes you wonder about the people who manage the score's programming.

I know it's not going to happen, but after 2 hours of OPV and Goff I would prefer either one of them to Speigel. If that resulted in fewer parody songs, even better.

True, and at least they don't miss every work day the night after their tribute band plays a gig.

Vandy and Mac have pretty good chemistry. I mean they have a nice easy rapport and their perspectives rarely clash.

This has been commented before, but Speigel is alright when solo, and/or on a baseball show. There's too many awkward moments on this gig, and his disengenous laughter at Mac's clunkers is a bit too much to take at times.

Goff is pretty good, gives you that urban edge while still retaining that "everyman" kinda vibe. He seems like the guy you like to talk to at the water cooler every day, as opposed to Holmes and/or Bernstein, who is the guy you want to punch at the water cooler every day.

If Jesus and Moses had a radio show I'm pretty that they wouldn't be as good as Jason Goff and Mac.

^^ Nahh if i meant Balck I woulda said balck.

I'm not saying they were good, but Eddie and Jobo were also "urban". I just meant he is up on what the kids are saying, without being solipsistic and arrogant about it, a la Holmes.

Mac and Goff have a healthy antagonism to their give-and-take, but they do sound a bit thirsty. Perhaps Park Ridge Kenny can make a quick run to the White Hen so the pros can do their job properly.

I've been familiar with Oak Park Vandy as a frequent guest co-host on both of Mac's radio homes. Look no further than the time Bruce Levine was caught in broadcast hell when Vandy sat in with Mac when Bruce forgot the name of that Houston Astros' player during a game at Wrigley Field...Vandy has been very good whenever he's sat in.

As for Goff, you know where I stand on this rising talent. He'll be hosting Saturday 5-8p on 670 The SCORE & 670thescore.com after the White Sox/Cubs Cactus League game...

I hope today's show was an on air test. Maybe Meatpants will be reassigned...or let go.

too much man in the booth for one show. Like all three of them, but two was enough.

This is why Jurco as the third man in worked so well. He added well timed comedic statements.

Anyways, great show today. I thought it was going to be a mish mash of different people talkin over one another and the like but it turned out pretty solid. Even with OPV in there, Goff was able to stand out and deliver some solid radio. And whoever said the Mac and MeatPants is all over the place frat radio at times is correct. I have no problem with Speigs because he has improved but the show can be a little to back slapping fake laugh stuff.

Oh well. I was just glad for some solid radio.

Beardown can't have any mults. Why would he spread himself so thin? Making fun of Larry is nothing he needs to do under a separate nom de guerre (though it would add another fascinating dynamic to the Beardown=Bernstein meme)

It was good. Goff talked to much and Mac talked too much hockey, but I liked it. OPV was perfect.

I forget who said it last time, but using the name "Oak Park Vandy" is kind of small-town shtick. This isn't the Quad Cities.

Do you think Goff's roast performance was the reason Mitch finally gave him Mac's show?
