OK we are T-Minus 12 minutes away here...I've got my tux, my Bubbly, and a phony smile, AND phony tears ready.

Where's Heath Ledger at?

After all his great roles, when I see Jeff Bridges interviewed on the red carpet, I still can't get The Dude out of my head.

it was a taylor made oscar role, like rourke in "the wrestler"...but with the hype of "Tron Legacy" (which looks AWESOME!!!!1ONE) and things going well for him, and with him NOT going up against sean penn...he's got a good chance to win.

"precious: based on the novel 'push' by sapphire" is on a roll. it's really annoying that that's the title of the film, because you can't get much more pretentious than that...but i got a feeling actress may go to sidibe.

The opening with Martin and Father of the year alec baldwin was TERRIBLE. I like both but the timing was way off and the clapping for every name they mentioned disrupted any flow they could have had. TERRIBLE. This horror thing is cool.

FINALLY! A horror tribute, however watered-down.

Half of these movies aren't "horror".

True, much like the Grammy's trying to classify "Metal" back in 1989

exactly what i was thinking, spanky. that was pretty lame. "jaws"? yeah, pat spielberg on the back a little more.

problem is you introduced this as movies that we don't take as seriously or give a lot of credit to. "jaws" is typically on many people's top 10 best films list...doesn't belong.

"twilight"? give me a break.

where was "the burning"? or "black christmas", "the brood", or "the fly"?

no deep cuts at all. pun intended.

'Beetlejuice' and 'Little Shop of Horrors' really scared the hell out of me the first time I saw them.

to be fair, those are technically horror comedies. but still, i agree, this was supposed to celebrate horror films. they may as well have thrown in "killer klowns from outer space" and "cabin fever".

hell, they had "scream".

WTF is up with James Cameron?

Kathryn Bigelow is gorgeous compared to that hag Suzy Amis that he's with now, and Linda Hamilton no longer looks like 'The Beauty' - but more like 'The Beast'.

...and one would think the latter two (actresses) would be hotter looking than somebody behind the camera.

Kick the canuck's ass for best picture Kathryn, as you don't stand a snowball's chance in hell for best director!

they need to stop with the live music. dim the lights, showcase the dead, and have it be that.

this was better than last year's but still they're doing it wrong.

funny line, beef.

Yeah

James Taylor was really bad. It would've been better with something pre-recorded.

That's all Tyler Perry BS here. Guy can't do anything without giving himself a shoutout.

WZ, why don't they say "Avatar" based on the novel "Pocahontas" ?

No Farrah in the dead folks dedication, yet Michael Jackson? Wasn't she in Logan's Run? Once again he steals Farrah's thunder.

His bit part as the director of the musical in Blazing Saddles kills me everytime I see it.
